While Rito Village is one of the main areas that Link will need to explore in order to take back the Divine Beasts from the control of Calamity Ganon, it is also one of the shortest areas in Breath of the Wild and will likely take much less time to complete than the Zora, Goron, or Gerudo areas in the game. Despite how short the area is, there is a lot going on inside Rito Village, some of which is very easy to miss.

The main draw of Rito Village is to complete the Divine Beast Vah Medoh and obtain Revali's Gale, which helps immensely when trying to navigate the world as well as in climbing Rito Village itself, but there are also several other reasons why players should make this place one of their first stops on the road to defeating Ganon.

Merchants

Rito merchant in Rito Village

There are two main merchants in Rito Village as well as one Inn that can be used to refill Link's hearts if they are getting too low. Considering the fact that Rito Village is incredibly cold thanks to its high elevation, the Swallow's Roost Inn is likely going to be one of the first stops that the player makes after reaching the area. Just like all other Inns, it costs 20 Rupees to stay overnight and refill Link's hearts, while it costs 80 Rupees to use the Cottondown Bed, which also grants Link three temporary hearts and a temporary stamina wheel.

The second place that players are likely to want to visit is the Brazen Beak, the local armory and where players can buy the Snowquil Armor that helps them withstand the bitter cold of the Rito's home. In order to purchase all three pieces of this armor set, players will need at least 2100 Rupees, which isn't too difficult to obtain by simply selling off rare ores that are found by breaking rocks around Hyrule. Due to a large number of wolves in the area, players can also kill them to obtain Prime Meat and make Meat Skewers that sell for quite a high price as well.

The final shop found in Rito Village is The Slippery Falcon, a general store that sells various food items as well as Bomb and regular arrows. Inside this store, players can also find a recipe book that will teach them the recipe to make Apple Pie, Nutcake, and Fried Bananas. Once Tarrey Town has been built, The Slippery Falcon will also appear here, though will sell Fire, Ice, Bomb, Shock, and regular arrows, as well as Ancient Gears, rather than food items and is one of the best places to buy arrows in Hyrule.

Loot and Korok Seeds

Korok in Rito Village

As Rito Village is quite small compared to other major towns, there isn't a lot going on here in terms of obtainable items. While there are many different herbs, mushrooms, and other food items that can be found in the wilds, there is comparatively less in the way of weapons. However, one weapon that respawns after each Blood Moon is the Swallow Bow, found in Harth's House, and is the base weapon needed to recreate Revali's signature weapon, the Great Eagle Bow, by combining it with a Diamond and five Bundles of Wood.

While there are several Korok Seeds to be found in the area immediately surrounding Rito Village, there are much fewer found within the city limits and within Lake Totori itself. One Korok can be found partway up the spire at the center of the village where Link must shoot a balloon in order to reveal it. Another can be found on the east side of the main island, hiding under a rock as many Koroks tend to do.

Of the two small islands to the west of Rito Village, there is an offering shrine located on the northern and larger of the two, which will reveal a hidden Korok if an apple is placed on the shrine. This is also a decent location to look for Luminous Stones if the player is looking to trade them for Diamonds in Zora Domain.

Quests

Just as there is little in the way of merchants and items to be found in Rito Village, there are also comparatively few quests to be found in the area. While the main quest to retake Vah Medoh is the main reason to go to Rito Village, players can also obtain several Silver Rupees by taking part in the side quests available, which makes up for the lack of quests available by granting Link quite a lot of money. The first of these is a simple quest to locate a Rito's daughter, Kheel, which can be started by talking to Amali, a green Rito that usually appears on Revali's Landing. Her daughter can be found on the first landing of the spire at the center of the village, though she can be fairly difficult to spot from the ground.

After finding Kneel, she will also grant Link the Shrine Quest Recital at Warblers Point, where she tasks the player with finding all of her friends so that they can practice singing at Warbler's Point. After all of her friends have been found, the majority of which hiding somewhere in Rito Village itself, they will recite their song and give Link the clue of how to open the way to Voo Lota Shrine. Simply stand on the pedestal at the center and blow a gust of wind through the rings using a Korok Leaf in the correct order to open the Shrine.

Another fairly simple quest can be started by talking to Juney, a Gerudo who is normally hanging out on the upper levels of the inhabited part of the village. She will ask for a Baked Apple and begin the quest Apple of My Eye. Simply return to her with a Baked Apple to be given a Silver Rupee for Link's "trouble." After finishing this quest, players can return to her repeatedly and give her Baked Apples in exchange for Rupees.

In the Swallow's Roost Inn, there is a man, Jogo, who is most likely Juney's husband and is in need of Flint so that he can make his wife Baked Apples, beginning the quest The Spark of Romance. Like Juney, he will reward the player with a Silver Rupee upon completion of the quest, though he can be returned to with an additional 20 Flint to receive 250 Rupees, then will pay 70 Rupees for every 10 Flint given to him after that.

Finally, there is a request by Gesane, who is patrolling the bridge that connects the island of Rito Village to the mainland. They will task Link with defeating a Frost Talus at Coldsnap Hollow, an area that is freezing cold and will most likely require the Snowquil armor set in order to traverse. Simply trek up the mountain with the warmest gear and best Fire weapons that Link can find, defeat the Talus, then return to Gesane to receive the reward of yet another Silver Rupee.

Shrines

Rito Village Shrine Puzzle

The main Shrine that players will likely unlock and fast travel to is fairly easy to spot on the trek towards Rito Village, though there are also a couple more that can be accessed in the immediate area surrounding it. The most notable involves the spire at the center of town, which will project a heart-shaped light onto a Shrine pedestal around midday. If Link is standing on this pedestal when the light hits at just the right time while either holding a lit torch or having lit a campfire on the pedestal, the Bareeda Naag Shrine will emerge from the ground, which contains another Swallow Bow and a Diamond.

After completing the Recital at Warbler's Point quest, the Voo Lota Shrine will be open to Link to complete. Unfortunately, despite the fact that there was a quest associated with this Shrine, completing it isn't as simple as walking inside and claiming the prize, though the Shrine puzzle itself is fairly easy and involves gliding around the dungeon until Link reaches the end.

The final Shrine in the area is Sha Warvo Shrine, found north of Rito Village and right beside the Flight Range that Link needs to travel to in order to continue the Vah Medoh Divine Beast quest. It's a fairly simply gliding dungeon that is similar to the Voo Lota Shrine, though it's a little longer and a little easier to fail if players try to rush through it.
