The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild contains 120 shrines scattered across Hyrule. Players will seek out these shrines to participate in the fun puzzles or challenges within and earn valuable rewards. Completion of a shrine earns Link a Spirit Orb, four of which can be traded for increased health or stamina. This guide will offer the solution for Keo Ruug Shrine in Breath of the Wild.
In addition to a Spirit Orb, each shrine in Breath of the Wild also hides at least one secret treasure. These optional treasures usually take the form of a weapon or other gear that will serve to aid Link on his journey since all weapons, excluding the Master Sword, break. Keo Ruug Shrine contains one optional treasure, and this guide will make sure players are able to grab it during the trial.
Keo Ruug Shrine Location in Breath of the Wild
Keo Ruug Shrine is located in the Korok Forest. From the Master Sword's pedestal, the player just needs to follow the trail to the right. Keo Ruug Shrine will be found nestled away among the Deku Tree's roots. Unlike certain others, it won't be necessary to complete a difficult shrine quest to unlock this trial.
Keo Ruug Shrine Solution
Keo Ruug Shrine challenges Link to solve a riddle about stars and constellations. From atop the central pedestal, there are two columns on either side. Each column is made up of five rows, with each row corresponding to a number from one to five. At the head of each column is a constellation. The challenge is to figure out which number corresponds to each constellation.
The solution lies on the far wall at the very back of the shrine. The answer for each column will be the same as the number of times the constellation appears on the far wall. The exact placements of the orbs are as follows, from left to right:
- Column 1 - Row 5
- Column 2 - Row 3
- Column 3 - Row 1
- Column 4 - Row 2
Keo Ruug Shrine Optional Treasure
There is one optional treasure to be found in Keo Ruug Shrine. Solving an additional puzzle will reward players with a Knight's Claymore. While not one of the best weapons in Breath of the Wild, it never hurts to pick up some backups in case other weapons break in battle.
Upon descending towards the altar at the bottom of the shrine, players will notice a locked chamber to the right. Above the barred portion of the wall is a series of constellations. There are quite a few constellations, but observant players will notice that some constellations are repeating.
There are actually only four unique shapes in the cluster, and the number of times they repeat is the solution for this puzzle. Players can claim the secret treasure by heading back upstairs and arranging the puzzle as follows:
- Column 1 - Row 4
- Column 2 - Row 2
- Column 3 - Row 2
- Column 4 - Row 1
Keo Ruug Shrine is definitely one of the hardest shrines in Breath of the Wild, with a hidden solution that has stumped countless players since the game's launch. With the Keo Ruug Spirit Orb and secret treasure obtained, though, players will be one step closer to full shrine completion and the rewards that come with it.
