Despite being commercially available for nearly five years, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild still has quite a lot to offer its player base. Various Breath of the Wild players have continued to discover and cultivate new techniques that push the limitations of what the game is capable of. To the point where one player recently shared a technique that allows players to deal damage more quickly.
One of the core aspects of Breath of the Wild is the Divine Beasts, which serve primarily as dungeons for players to complete. At the end of each Divine Beast, the player will unlock a new ability based on one of the four deceased Champions. One such ability is Daruk's Protection, which creates a red barrier that deflects any and all damage. Though, apparently, Daruk's Protection can also be used as an offensive ability as well.
A Reddit user named Harrysonbro2 found a way to use a combination of bombs and Daruk's Protection in order to create an attack the user has dubbed "Daruk's Rush." The user breaks the technique down in the video, but basically, the player activates Daruk's Protection, then immediately summons a bomb and detonates it. This gives the player the opportunity to use flurry rush on whatever enemy they happen to be attacking.
The technique can be used as many times as the player wants, as long as Daruk's Protection is active. A technique like this would definitely be useful against singular enemies with incredibly high health pools. Creatures like the lynel seen in the Reddit clip are definitely more susceptible to a technique like this, as opposed to large groups of enemies or flying enemies.
The "Daruk's Rush" technique can also be useful for players who aren't very good at parrying in Breath of the Wild. While parrying has become a much more prevalent mechanic in major releases, such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Metroid Dread, for some players, the timing can be a bit hard to master. Therefore, something like "Daruk's Rush" is quite a useful alternative.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Breath of the Wild going forward. While Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity managed to scratch many players' itch for new Breath of the Wild content, there's been little to no additional information provided for the upcoming release of Breath of the Wild 2. With any luck, Nintendo will provide some sort of update in the coming months.
