Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the most ambitious Animal Crossing game to date, and it allows players to take advantage of more customization options than ever before. Some players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons are using this freedom to create detailed in-game tributes to other properties, including other Nintendo franchises. One fan recently shared an incredible recreation of the ruined Hyrule Castle as it appears in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

This isn't the first time Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have recreated Breath of the Wild locations in-game, but it may be one of the most visually spectacular. The Hyrule Castle dungeon features an engaging mixture of decaying grandeur and monstrous corruption, which can be difficult to capture in the cuter graphics of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, one player has figured out how to pull it off.

Twitter user NaydinfarCrossing successfully recreated Breath of the Wild's Hyrule Castle through a mixture of custom designs and taking advantage of Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Polish feature. In a 25-second-long video, she showcases what appears to be either several similar rooms or a single ornately decorated room from multiple angles. Whatever the case, she has gone above and beyond in capturing the atmosphere of Hyrule Castle, including the Eye of Malice enemies and the constant flutter of Malice rising into the air.

In the video, NaydinfarCrossing takes the viewer on a short tour of her creation, complete with a player character customized to look like Breath of the Wild's take on Link. Her version of the ruined Hyrule Castle features a tiled brown floor reminiscent of a sepia-colored chessboard, weathered brick walls, lit chandeliers, and a battered couch. Also shown in the video are sets of free-standing suits of armor, banners on the walls, large standing stones, and empty doorways leading into darkness. Recreations of the Eye of Malice enemies found in Breath of the Wild can be spotted perched on walls or hidden along the floor.

According to NaydinfarCrossing, she created most of the designs herself, including the Malice--which was created through a combination of Glow-in-the-Dark stickers and the Polish feature. Stickers can be used to create a variety of things in Animal Crossing, including ominously glowing stains of dark magic on the floor. Her strategic use of the Polish feature led to items covered in Malice sending up sparks of sickening red-black magic. She also revealed that her Eye of Malice recreations are actually hat items.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available on the Nintendo Switch.
