Beginner Breath of the Wild players that choose to go west instead of towards Kakariko Village may stumble into the Gerudo Wasteland. While the area itself may not be beginner-friendly, it's home to unique armor sets such as the Gerudo Set and the Desert Voe Set. Only one of them is required to progress the main story, but if Link has the rupees, it may be worth shelling out for the other armor set.

Like the Gerudo Fortress in Ocarina of Time, Gerudo Town in Breath of the Wild isn't welcoming to "voe" (men). If players want the Desert Voe Set, they're going to need to find a way around this. Since getting into Gerudo Town is necessary, it's not too difficult to break in. However, players that manage to enter Gerudo Town may realize the Desert Voe Set can't be bought at the general Amor Store in Gerudo Town.

Where to Buy the Voe Set

Players can buy the Desert Voe Set at the Gerudo Secret Club (GSC). Alternatively, they can buy it from Rhondson Armor Boutique, but only if Tarrey Town is complete. The easier way is to get the one from Gerudo Town, and the Desert Voe Set costs the same regardless of where Link buys it.

To get into the GSC, Link will need a password. He can visit The Noble Canteen bar in Gerudo Town (take the path between the jewelry store and the inn) and speak to the three Gerudo women sitting by the window. However, approaching directly will cause them to snap at Link for eavesdropping, so that won't do. Instead, go into the house left of The Noble Canteen and approach the right window. This will allow Link to listen in on their conversation properly and get the password for the Gerudo Secret Club.

Once Link has the password - GSC♦(diamond) - he can access the Secret Club. This is located in the opposite direction of The Noble Canteen, down the path between the Armor Shop and a market stall. Approach the door on the left-side wall and input the password.

The Desert Voe Set will cost 2400 Rupees overall. Here are the individual prices:

  • Desert Voe Headband: 450 rupees
  • Desert Voe Spaulder: 1300 rupees
  • Desert Voe Trousers: 650 rupees

Link can buy the Radiant Armor Set at the GSC, too.

Upgrading the Voe Set

The good news about the Desert Voe Set is that, unlike its Gerudo Set counterpart, it can be upgraded. Not only does it offer Heat Resistance, but its Set Bonus will also give Link Shock Damage Resistance. This won't protect Link from being struck by lightning, but it will prevent him from dropping weapons when hit with electricity from Shock Arrows or Electric Keese. To get the Set Bonus, Link will need to upgradeeach armor piece of the Desert Voe Set to 2-star or higher.
