Breath of the Wild players that are following the main quests will find themselves in Kakariko Village fairly early. It's one of the few places not overrun by monsters, and it's where Link can get his first armor set. Despite this being a beginner-friendly area, the prices for the garb may be a bit too much for a newcomer.

The Stealth Set may remind familiar Zelda fans of Sheik's garb from Ocarina of Time. In Breath of the Wild, its ability to increase Link's stealth is ideal for players trying to farm skittish creatures such as lizards or frogs. If BotW players just starting their journey can't afford the Stealth Set on their first visit to Kakariko, then it wouldn't hurt to come back later when they've earned enough rupees.

Where to Buy The Stealth Set

The great news about the Stealth Set is that it's all in one place. Link won't have to go from one corner of Hyrule to the next searching for pieces. The downside is the price. It's possible, albeit not easy, for players to have enough rupees when they take their first step into Kakariko Village. Rupees can't be found from cutting grass this time around, but Link can sell the gems he mines from ore deposits. Some gems, such as the Diamond, will sell for well over 100 rupees.

Players can find the Stealth Set in Kakariko Village's armor shop. This is directly across from the house with the Cucco pen. The prices are:

  • Stealth Mask: 500 rupees
  • Stealth Tights: 600 rupees
  • Stealth Chest Guard: 700 rupees

As far as armor goes, it's not nearly as expensive as the Flamebreaker Set. Its poor defense (base defense: 2) also means players may pass it up in favor for the Hylian Tunic and Hylian Hood. However, it's good to have if only for its Set Bonus.

Upgrading the Stealth Set

This gear's Set Bonus will increase Link's movement speed at night. For a Set Bonus to work, the entire set needs to be at 2-stars or higher. This means the Stealth Mask, Tights, and Chest Guard have to be upgraded twice by a Great Fairy. There are four Great Fairies in Breath of the Wild, but the easiest ones to find are up the hill of Kakariko Village (Cotera) and southeast of Lake Akkala (Mjia). The first Great Fairy will want 100 rupees; the second will want 500 rupees. Finding the third and fourth Great Fairy will allow players to upgrade the Stealth Set to 4-stars, which is the maximum amount.

  • The materials needed to upgrade the Stealth Set can't be farmed from enemies. However, the Sunset Fireflies and Stealthfin Trout will take off the minute they hear Link. Press down on the control stick to crouch. This makes it easier to sneak up on fireflies.
  • As for the Stealthfin Trout, these can be caught by dropping in on them from above (via the paraglider) or by killing them with one of the remote bombs.
  • The Sneaky River Snail, as their name indicates, can be found near water. In fact, there are a few hanging about in Kakariko Village.

The materials needed for Stealth Set upgrades are easier to spot at night .
