The Breath of the Wild gaming community stands out from the pack because of its sheer love of the game. Nintendo understands this, and on Friday it gave those players an avenue to relay how much they enjoy playing Breath of the Wild. A new website, where players can share the memories they forged while running around Hyrule with Link, was released this week.

There is one caveat for this special site. It appears to be meant for Japanese language players. However, a little creativity with Google Translate allows those not fluent in the language to still enjoy the posts and stories from hundreds of players. The Legend of Zelda community has always been an active one. Players have created everything from fan fiction to new Breath of the Wild levels to play.

Now, that community has a website where it can come together. Nintendo even built the Breath of the Wild website so that it's easily searchable by users. The keywords are simple one or two-word phrases. Users can look for terms like, "you can go anywhere," "challenging nature," "challenging monsters," and  "unrestrained." Users can also look for very specific shared memories such as, "all for survival," and "In search of your memories and fulfilling your guard duty."

All of the phrases the Breath of the Wild players use to refer to the various exploits of Link, in-game. In total, there are more than 17 pages of stories uploaded already. Those stories come from people from all walks of life, shapes and sizes and ages. One story, translated by Dualshockers, comes from a 67-year-old woman who first annoyed her grandchildren and then eventually impressed them with her play.

She said she started her BOTW playthrough struggling to climb off the tower after Link first wakes up. "My hands were sweating, hearing my grandchildren complaining, and I finally managed to do it after multiple tries," she continued. " I was alone and grinning when I managed to defeat a Guardian for the first time. I’m still proud I ultimately managed to discover and clear all 120 Shrines before my grandchildren did. My journey ended with my grandchildren praising me."

The fanbase's love for the original is why there is so much excitement over the eventual release of Breath of the Wild 2. Unfortunately for those creating memories in the first Legend of Zelda title to land on the Nintendo Switch, there still isn't a concrete release date. Some believe it will launch in 2021 but Nintendo still hasn't confirmed the release year, let alone a month.

Breath of the Wild is available now on Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.
