Breath of the Wild is a big game and takes some time getting from one point of Hyrule to another. In-game days pass by and when the player doesn't rest after some time, a strange phenomenon happens. The moon is much larger, and a different color with an orangy-red tint- called the Bloodmoon.

During a Boodmoon sighting, enemies that Link has killed come back. Stronger, deadlier, and with better loot, it adds a layer a difficulty to the game. They have subtle differences like what color the reappear as.  While enemies' diversity is something that the game lacks, it's the Bloodmoon the helps make the enemy feel different. This list should help players prepare for what the Bloodmoon has to offer.

10 Stock Up On Food

When going out alone in the world, preparing for a trip with food is a necessity. It could be life or death when Link doesn't have any backup. So adding on the looming threat of the Bloodmoon it would mean the player needs to manage their food inventory.

Since enemies are stronger it would make sense having foods that fill up many heart containers. Plus there are some recipes that have effects that could help withstand tons of damage.

9 Stock Up On Elixers

Exlixers are just as important as food. Creating as many as the game allows helps the player out. The many buffs they can give alongside food makes the fight easier. Even if the player doesn't want to fight the enemy they're elixirs to make Link more stealthy.

And it's just as beneficial as food, so stocking up on these are just as important as food. Anything that can protect Link to a stronger enemy is a good thing. And they're easy to create since most recipes need things that are so abundant across Hyrule.

8 Weapons

Breath of the Wild has some pretty strong enemies and they're a task to take down alone. So when picking a weapon to go against these newly formed bad guys many things should be taken into consideration. Like how durable they are, what effects they have, and how much damage they do.

Thankfully, strong weapons are scattered around Hyrule, like the boomerang. But a good tip would be holding on to the stronger weapons until it's needed that way when the Bloodmoon happens, it won't be that bad.

7 Leveling Up Weapons

Getting a good sword is one thing, but maintaining it and leveling it up is something else. If a player likes a weapon they have in the game they should focus on using it, especially when the Bloodmoon appears. The more the stronger the weapon and the easier it is for Link to defend himself.

Adding to that, the weapon can handle and do more so that makes the fight in the end easier. It feels better knowing that these enemies don't stand up against a proper sword.

6 Armor

Dealing with the effects of the Bloodmoon is already hard, and can't be done with a sword alone. So having a good armor set is always a good idea even during a Bloodmoon. Breath of the Wild has some good armor sets but it also has some bad ones.

So there's going to be some digging before that right piece or set comes up. When the player is all protected and already managing the sets by leveling it up it makes things easier. Adding the better sets, the Bloodmoon should be a cakewalk

5 Sheilds

Like the armor, weapons, and the rest of Links arsenal, shields bring something to his defense. Not only do they add to Links armor stat but he can block many strong attacks from those creatures. And all without doing any damage to his armor. But like everything in his inventory, they don't last.

So looking for a shield that can handle many hits is a must. And much like weapons, during a Bloodmoon they're more common because enemies drop better loot. So going into a fight during a Bloodmoon has its benefits.

4 A Really Good Bow

Links shield, armor, and weapon make his stats, but the other important thing in the mix is his bow. The best thing about the bow is the buffs it can have. Fire, electric, explosive, and more the arrow gives Link and edge in the fight.

So when going up against the new Bloodmoon monsters it makes sense throwing as much as possible at them. So if Link has these effect based arrows it can turn the fight to his favor. But the game makes a point to be conservative with them since they don't appear often and towns aren't everywhere.

3 Heart Containers

Now, these are a must, the more Link has the more he can deal and withstand. So the more containers he has the longer the fight is. This is obvious for all fights in the game, but the Bloodmoon it's different since they can damage him more.

So being hit and then refilling all the heart containers when there's a ton of enemies around, changes how the outcome. Being able to hold on longer is something to invest in early on in the game so when a random Bloodmoon incident happens Link can take on more.

2 Stamina

Much like health containers, the stamina is pretty important as well. Running away and dodging attacks take up stamina, so the more he has the better. Even if Link doesn't want to fight he can just run away, but enemies will be chasing and attacking him at the same time.

So if the player maxes out his stamina it makes things easier for Link to evade the oncoming attacks. Much like containers, getting the stamina up early on is always a good idea since Link won't be sleeping anytime so the Bloodmoon will appear more often.

1 Inventory

A big thing about going out in Hyrule is making sure Link has everything from food, elixirs weapons, and armor all stocked up. Because when facing those Bloodmoon monsters the player will need everything at their disposal.

Having a full inventory will go a far way because when a player is in the middle of a fight and are losing, it makes sense to have back up. When a weapon breaks it adds to the strategy, to use the weaker ones first and then start doing more damage with the better ones. So ultimately a stocked inventory is something Link needs to have.
