One of the best Xbox 360 games of 2008, hit indie game Braid, is making a comeback on April 30, 2024 as Braid: Anniversary Edition. Braid was one of the industry's first big indie games, earning widespread critical acclaim at the time of its release and taking home a number of awards.

Braid was praised for its story, time-traveling mechanics, and how it twisted the conventional puzzle-platformer. Considered a landmark release, Braid was a massive success on Xbox Live Arcade and released as an Xbox 360 console exclusive for a time. Braid is largely associated with the Xbox 360 because of this, but the game did eventually make its way to other platforms. Braid came to PC in 2009, with a PS3 port following in 2010.

When is Braid: Anniversary Edition's Release Date?

  • Braid: Anniversary Edition Release Date - April 30, 2024
  • Braid: Anniversary Edition Platforms - PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, iOS (through Netflix)

The newest trailer for Braid: Anniversary Edition does more than just confirm the game's release date. It also shows off various enhancements that fans can expect from the new game, specifically when it comes to the visuals. Braid: Anniversary Edition's graphics are a definite step-up from the original, with more detailed environments and a crisper presentation in general. Those that prefer the original graphics from 2008 can switch to them if they'd like, however.

Fans may recall that this isn't the first time we've heard of Braid: Anniversary Edition. Braid: Anniversary Edition was first announced in 2020 during a PlayStation State of Play event. Some of the footage from that initial trailer was reused in this new one, which makes sense as they are trying to get the same point across: the Anniversary Edition will be the same Braid that fans remember from 2008, but better. The indie game landscape has changed quite drastically since Braid first arrived on the scene, though, so it will be interesting to see if fans embrace the Anniversary Edition or not.
