Boruto: Naruto Next Generations may be a series that follows ninjas, but there are other elements present in the story. One of the main differences between Boruto and its predecessor is the role of science. In Boruto, science plays a crucial role.
There have been a vast array of scientific inventions that have been used to make people's lives easier. Aside from that, the knowledge has been used to create weapons. While there is no denying that these geniuses are outstanding, some Boruto characters prefer to put their intelligence to use in battles.
7 Kawaki
Kawaki is considered brash by most people, but he has displayed ingenuity on various occasions. He was exposed to brutal training at a young age, which made him extremely resilient both physically and mentally. Kawaki's body has been fitted with microscopic ninja technology that allows him to reshape his limbs into different weapons.
Kawaki is a quick learner, as evidenced by the short time it took for him to learn to mold chakra despite having no prior experience. He can make the necessary signs for a jutsu with a single hand. Kawaki has also shown that he can master a new ability almost instantly. With proper training, Kawaki can become an unbelievable ninja.
6 Boruto Uzumaki
Boruto Uzumaki is the main character of the series. He is the son of Naruto and Hinata, which means he belongs to two powerful bloodlines. Unlike his father, Boruto is a genius who can learn the most complicated techniques in next to no time.
Boruto mastered the Rasengan in a short period of time, and he even managed to add Lightning Release to it, although he could only do it subconsciously. Boruto's ability to analyze a situation is top-notch, and he can easily come up with a plan to tackle the problem. When he is fighting alongside his teammates, Boruto always keeps their strengths and weaknesses in mind, so the strategy that he devises is almost immaculate.
5 Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha has always had an aura of coolness and enigma around him. He is a man of few words, as he prefers being precise. At the beginning of the series, Sasuke had both the Rinnegan and the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, two of the strongest Dojutsu. When he received the Rinnegan, it only took him a few moments to get near-perfect control of the eye.
He has always been considered a genius who passed every test with flying colors. He is also extremely creative when it comes to using a certain technique for different purposes. Sasuke is aware of his flaws, which is why he has created numerous techniques to cover them.
4 Isshiki Otsutsuki
Isshiki Otsutsuki is one of the main antagonists in Boruto. He came to the earth in hopes of claiming the chakra fruit, but Kaguya betrayed him. Isshiki hung on for dear life and somehow managed to take over Jigen's body. Even in Jigen's body, he made things difficult for both Naruto and Sasuke.
As an Otsutsuki, Isshiki possessed the ability to fly and open portals. He was also able to use special techniques such as Sukunahikona and Daikokuten. However, Isshiki did not rely on his abilities alone. He formed an organization with many skilled fighters and managed to turn them into killers. Considering the fact that Isshiki lived for centuries, it's hardly surprising that he had knowledge about almost all kinds of things, including different ninjas, tailed beasts, and all kinds of Kekkei Genkai.
3 ​​​​​Shikamaru Nara
Shikamaru Nara has always been renowned for his extraordinary IQ. He lacked the chakra reserves and physical abilities to compete with other characters, but he made up for that with his intelligence. Shikamaru's victory against Temari was just the first instance where the genius showed that he could overcome his weaknesses without training to become physically stronger.
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Shikamaru became the Hokage's advisor. He helped Naruto handle the duties of being the leader of the village. With age, Shikamaru has become tactically adept and capable of overseeing the security of the entire Hidden Leaf.
2 Katasuke Tono
Katasuke Tono is the most renowned scientist in the Hidden Leaf. He has worked tirelessly on different projects that would change the lives of ninjas for the better. Katasuke Tono is respected by Naruto and Shikamaru; both of them know that he is a valuable asset to the village.
Katasuke Tono specializes in prosthetics, which he mainly gives to people who have lost their limbs. He created an arm for Naruto made out of Hashirama's cells. With the arm, Naruto is able to absorb attacks, but it cannot release them like Momoshiki.
1 Amado
Amado is unquestionably the smartest character in Boruto. He used to work for Kara and was responsible for the creation of some of the most mind-blowing pieces of technology. Amado worked on the bodies of several Kara members and fitted them with the latest ninja technology that made them incredibly powerful.
He utilized the DNA of Shibai Otsutsuki and placed it inside other individuals so that they could access Shinjutsu. Amado's intelligence is not limited to just creating new gadgets. After defecting to the Hidden Leaf, Amado came up with a plan that earned him a pardon from Naruto. Even a certified genius like Shikamaru failed to grasp the true intentions of Amado.
