Boruto: Naruto Next Generations continues strong as Boruto Uzumaki and his teammates follow their path to becoming the protectors of the world and define a new generation of shinobi. The story has been quite intriguing lately, with some incredible revelations being made. Recently, Amado, the genius scientist of the Navy was seen in focus and he finally explained his past to the fans.
Among a ton of details that he added about Kara, the Karma, and the Otsutsuki, there was also something very intriguing that could potentially change the world of Naruto forever, as fans know it, and that is the existence of Shinjutsu. Just like the other forms of Jutsu, Shinjutsu is extremely powerful and useful in combat, however, as opposed to the others, it is in a league of its own and cannot be matched by any other form in the entire story.
What Is Shinjutsu?
Shinjutsu was recently introduced in the Boruto series, thanks to Amado. According to him, the first user of Shinjutsu was none other than Shibai Otsutsuki. Shibai existed a very long time ago and the Naruto world and he went from planet to planet, consuming chakra fruits the way the Otsutsuki do. From what Amado mentioned to the fans, Shibai is known to have consumed a vast number of chakra fruits and destroyed several planets in the process. Over the years, he is known to have been resurrected several times using the power of the Karma seal. With each resurrection, Shibai got stronger and the more chakra fruits that he consumed, the closer he got to godhood.
This is something that fans have already seen being teased toward the end of the Kawaki arc. After Isshiki was killed, he mentioned to Code that he wanted him to carry out the will of the Otsutsuki. In essence, he wants Code to consume as many chakra fruits as he positively can and end up becoming a God. This is exactly what Shibai did all those years ago. After consuming all the chakra fruits, he gained a completely new ability that is believed to have been on a tier above the likes of ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu. This form of power is known to be Shinjutsu.
Who Can Use Shinjutsu?
Shinjutsu is an extremely rare power that very few people in the world of Naruto can use. As fans know, Shibai Otsutsuki was the greatest user of Shinjutsu. Along with him, most members of the Otsutsuki clan can also access this power. The Karma of the Otsutsuki clan is also considered to be a form of Shinjutsu. As such, all the members of this clan who make use of this ability are also considered Shinjutsu users. At the same time, even some mortals possess the power of Shinjutsu. Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto, and Kawaki, are prime examples. Boruto received his Karma seal from none other than Momoshiki and ever since then, he has been a user of Shinjutsu.
Similarly, Kawaki received his seal from Isshiki and has been able to make use of Shinjutsu as well. Other than them, the likes of Daemon and Eida have also been able to make use of Shinjutsu powers. In the case of Daemon, he was infused with the remains of Shibai Otsutsuki and, as such, he gained the ability to reflect all damage and even malicious intent back to the user at all times without even trying. This is an incredibly powerful ability and is classified as Shinjutsu. At the same time, Eida has the power of the Senrigan which allows her to see anything and everything that is happening currently in the present or at any point in the past up to when she was born. This power is also known to be a form of Shinjutsu. She also has access to Omnipotence.
How Strong Is Shinjutsu?
Shinjutsu is known to be incredibly powerful. After all, what makes it different from normal ninjutsu or other forms of due to the fact that it is literally classified as a Godly ability. This means that the scale at which these techniques are performed is vastly superior to all other forms of jutsu. For instance, Shibai Otsutsuki is known to have been able to create storms capable of devastating landscapes, merely by moving his hands. With his roar, he was able to create thunderstorms and lightning, which would, once again, be strong enough to destroy any country with ease.
Isshiki Otsutsuki also possessed some abilities that are classified as Shinjutsu. His Daikokuten, which is an ability that allowed him to summon from and store things in an alternate dimension where time doesn't flow at all, is an overpowered ability that falls in this category. At the same time, his other ability, known as Sukunahikona is also Shinjutsu. Even Code possesses Claw Marks, a powerful space-time jutsu, which are also known to be a form of Shinjutsu. So far, not all Shinjutsu and its users have been explored, however, as the series moves forward, fans will certainly see more about this godly ability.
