Sasuke Uchiha, the mentor of Boruto Uzumaki, was deeply involved in the plot that centered around his escape and, the way things have turned out, things good spell trouble for the legendary Uchiha once again. While he isn't a criminal through and through, the actions that he has taken might see him be considered a rogue ninja in the world of Naruto once again.

Sasuke's Past As A Rogue Ninja

Naruto - Sasuke Uchiha's Sharingan

In the past, Sasuke did things that made him wanted across the Five Nations as a criminal in the Naruto world. After he abandoned Konoha, he was not immediately on the bingo book, however, after he killed Itachi, he became more sinister. Wanting to exact revenge on the village, Sasuke became more vicious and started killing people. He also abducted the brother of the Raikage and certainly did not hesitate in slicing down countless others, such as the samurai in the Land of Iron. Sasuke openly declared that he will kill anyone enjoying the peace that Itachi created, even the innocent civilians of Konoha, and that made him a criminal throughout the world.

If that wasn't enough, he had also joined the Akatsuki temporarily and aided them as long as it helped his goals as well. In the Great Ninja War, however, Sasuke started to return to the right path and helped the shinobi Alliance, however, immediately after Kaguya was sealed, he trapped the Tailed Beast and revealed that he would kill all the former Kage to start a revolution in the Ninja world. It required Naruto to defeat him in order for Sasuke to return to the right path, and since then, he has been loyal to Naruto, his best friend.

After the war, Sasuke went on a journey of redemption around the world where he saw the world for what it was and tried to help as many people as he could. At the same time, he also tracked down the Otsutsuki Clan to prevent the world from their attack. While he stayed on the sidelines for a significant portion of the story, things started getting interesting when Boruto Uzumaki, Naruto's son, stepped into the fray. Boruto was given the Karma by Momoshiki Otsutsuki and the Kara organization revealed themselves shortly afterwards.

As Boruto's story went on, more mysteries about the Otsutsuki clan made themselves known. Currently, fans know all there is to know about them, thanks to the way the Boruto series expanded upon their lore. Along with Boruto, there is another character who made his introduction thanks to the Otsutsuki clan, and this character is none other than Kawaki. Just like Boruto, he was also branded with the Karma, however, he ended up being saved by the 7th Hokage, at the cost of his powers.

Vowing to protect the Hokage, who was his benefactor, Kawaki decided to kill all the Otsutsuki and that included Boruto as well. However, this was not as easy as he thought it would be. And, as such, while trying to escape from the village after attempting to fight Boruto, Kawaki ended up relying on the powers of one of his allies, Ada, to switch lives with Boruto using the Shinjutsu of Omnipotence. As their lives switched, Boruto was also considered to be the killer of the 7th Hokage, who was actually sealed in a different dimension.

Is Sasuke A Criminal?

Sasuke Uchiha (1)

When Boruto had the world against him, it was no surprise that Sasuke came to his aid. Immediately after being told by Sarada that Boruto was being framed, Sasuke jumped to his defense and helped him escape from Konoha when he was surrounded by the Shinobi. This happened in front of all the Konoha shinobi who saw him help Boruto for some unknown reasons. Then, Sasuke and Boruto decided to train to get stronger and they are likely going to stay out of the village for at least 4 years. This would mean that, in the eyes of the village, Sasuke will have protected a criminal and harbored him for at least 4 years. Even though Boruto was declared to be the killer of the 7th Hokage, as well as a threat to world security, Sasuke aided him and, to the ninja world, that is likely going to be a crime.

Given his legendary status, perhaps, this might be overlooked, however, given the magnitude of the situation, Sasuke could very well be considered to be a rogue ninja, just like Boruto Uzumaki is at the moment. If Boruto engages in any activities that Konoha considers criminal, such as infiltrating the village or fighting Kawaki, and Sasuke accompanies him, the two could very well be put on a list to be eliminated and that certainly takes an interesting turn in the story of Sasuke Uchiha. For now, fans have to patiently wait for the return of the Boruto manga, which is on a 4-month hiatus.
