One character many Borderlands fans would have hoped would make the cut was Pandora's very own sultry barkeep, Mad Moxxi, who is set to be played by actress Gina Gershon. Gershon's most notable roles would be in her early career, stealing the show in the cult classic Showgirls. Though more modern audiences will find her familiar from her TV appearances in shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine as corrupt task force leader Melanie Hawkins, or Gladys Jones, the mother of Jughead in CW's Riverdale series.
In what may be one of several interesting facts about the character, Mad Moxxi actually wasn't in the first mainline game despite her popularity. She was introduced in a piece of DLC for the first game, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, which saw her as the game host for slaughter round survival game mode.
