Borderlands 3's release date is just around the corner, so PC players should make sure that they're ready for the latest the loot shooter series has to offer.

For players who don't have the latest and greatest computers, PC specs for a game can mean the difference between a smooth playing experience and not playing at all. Today, Gearbox Software released its first look at the PC specifications for Borderlands 3, revealing both the minimum and recommended specs for Borderlands 3 that players will need to meet in order to play.

borderlands 3 system requirements revealed

As one might expect for a game the size of Borderlands 3, Gearbox has provided PC players with a wide array of options for customizing their games. Everything from foliage detail to the volumetric fog can be set to off, low, medium, high, and ultra. These options should make it easier to play the game on systems that barely meet the minimum system requirements. Those who have stronger PC gaming rigs and are fans of higher frame rates should also be satisfied, as the game will let players set a custom FPS, or they can choose from a range of pre-set capped frame rates or simply switch it to unlimited.

Most players will probably jump on the opportunity to get into Borderlands 3 as quickly as possible, and for those players, time is ticking away to get their system specs up to date. For the players who are waiting for Borderlands 3 to no longer be an Epic Games exclusive, though, there's still plenty of time, as the game will be exclusive until early 2020.

In the meantime, players don't have to wait to get a fresh Borderlands fix. Fortnite has unveiled a crossover with Borderlands, adding in a Pandora Rift Zone, which transports players to a Borderlands-like area, complete with cel-shading. Players will also be able to pick up a Psycho Bandit bundle, which includes a Claptrap players can wear on their backs.

Borderlands 3 releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 13th.
