A new trailer for the next Borderlands 3 content update has released, and it showcases all four of the new skill trees players will have access to. Fl4k, Amara, Moze, and Zane will all get a new skill tree complete with action skills and abilities. While Borderlands 3 still doesn’t look to be getting any new playable characters, these skill trees will make the current ones feel completely new.

Borderlands 3 Season 2 Pass will be split into two parts. The first half is called Designer’s Cut and will release November 10. The second half will be called Director’s Cut and will release sometime in 2021. The Designer’s Cut is the content update that will include Arms Race—a brand new game mode for Borderlands 3—as well as these new skill trees.

Fl4k gets two big updates with the new Beastmaster “Trapper” skill tree. The new “Gravity Snare” ability lets players toss out a trap that will grab enemies and lift them into the air for a short time, similar to Amara’s Phasegrasp. This allows players ample time to line up their shots and focus on targets. In addition to this new action skill, Fl4k gets access to the Hyperion Loaderbot mechanical pet that has electricity, roundhouse kicks, and homing missiles.

Amara’s new skill tree is called “Enlightened Force” and grants her access to plenty of Cryo-element upgrades. Her new action skill is called “Phaseflare” and allows her to control an elemental orb and move it around the battlefield. This new icy bowling ball allows Amara players to enjoy more skill management than her other ‘fire and forget’ skill trees.

Moze’s new upgrade is, in a way, much smaller than her other skill trees. The “Bear Mother” skill tree changes Moze from a mech class to an almost hunter class, removing her Iron Bear mech and replacing it with the “Iron Cub." This small mech runs around shooting whatever its mother asks it to kill, complete with extra speed and damage at the cost of lower durability due to its size. This new skill tree gives players who weren’t interested in playing a mech and pilot character an option to check out Moze’s many crazy gun combos.

Rounding out the vault hunters is Zane with his new “Professional” skill tree. This new set of abilities gives Zane the “MNTIS Shoulder Cannon” action skill, a new weapon that can stun enemies. Players can upgrade the cannon to shoot more often, gain the Cryo-element, and even sync up to reload whenever he kills an enemy with a critical hit. The combination of freezing some enemies, stunning others, and blowing the rest up allows players to enjoy Zane anywhere on the spectrum of subtle rogue to intimidating tank. With these four new skill trees, players are sure to find the perfect way to try out each of the characters.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with upcoming releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X & S.
