The Borderlands 3 Director's Cut DLC has introduced lots of new content for hungry Vault Hunters to get their teeth into. From the new Diamond Keys that give players access to an entire room of loot to new missions and game modes, there is a lot to get to grips with. There is even a new Mysterious Artifact that is confusing players who manage to find it.

The Mysterious Artifact is rewarded for completing the Ava's Murder Mysteries quests and slaying the final boss. This content is exclusive to the Borderlands 3 Director's Cut DLC, so players will need to purchase it if they want to get their hands on the Mysterious Artifact. Once players have the Mysterious Artifact, they will discover the source of people's confusion.

Unlike other Artifacts in the game, the Mysterious Artifact does not tell players what it does in the item description. It will show two effects, one at 100% and the other at 5%, but it will provide no information on what either of the effects does. The good news is that the Mysterious Artifact is actually hugely beneficial for players who are looking to farm a lot of Eridium.

The 100% signifies a buff to the amount of Eridium that players will pick up while the Artifact is equipped, essentially doubling their Eridium income. The 5% effect is the chance for small Eridium clusters to spawn near the players when they are exploring the game's playable areas. While these clusters will be invisible from a distance, they will have a white shimmer around them.

The clusters are only visible when players get close to them and only when they have the Mysterious Artifact equipped. Any Eridium collected from the clusters will also be doubled, thanks to the Mysterious Artifact's other effect. Ava's Murder Mysteries are very entertaining quests, and it is very worthwhile to finish them to get this new Artifact.

It is a great addition to the game for players who like to spend lots of Eridium on skins and trinkets. Eridium is an even more important resource now that players can reroll Anointments at Crazy Earl's Reroll Machine. Players who are enjoying the new content should also check out Maurice's Black Market, another new addition to the game. This moving shop will sell Legendary items to anybody who has the cash and can afford them. The shop will only ever appear in Borderlands 3 base game areas, so players won't need to worry about missing out if they do not have all the DLCs.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
