Borderlands 3 is only days away, and many fans are already gearing up to take on the Calypso twins. While some fans are refreshing themselves with a recap of the Borderlands story so far, some are still debating on where they are going to pick up the game when it launches on Friday.

For those that have yet to pre-order a copy of the game, or those who are apprehensive about pre-ordering, Walmart is apparently going to offer the game at a discounted price on launch day should fans want to save a few dollars.

According to a leaked listing, Borderlands 3 is going to be $49.94 at Walmart on release day, meaning that those picking it up there will save around $10 off the standard price. Release day sales seems to be a growing trend with Walmart, as Borderlands 3 is not the first game they have done this with. The leaked image only shows the PlayStation 4 version of the game, though the price may likely apply to the other versions as well. It is currently unknown if there will be a sale on either the Deluxe or Super Deluxe version of the game through Walmart.

If players choose to pick up this discounted copy of Borderlands 3, then they may be missing out on the Borderlands 3 deluxe edition content, assuming the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions are not on sale as well. Those picking up the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions get a slew of bonus DLC content, including character and weapon skins, gun customization options, and skins for the in-game ECHO device. Those picking up the Super Deluxe get all that plus the Season Pass, which gives players access to the four DLC packs that Gearbox will be releasing over the next year.

Overall, the Walmart deal is a great option for those who are skeptical about the game after reading the Borderlands 3 review roundup. Overall, the game seems to be bringing back the same gameplay loop and humor, but adding plenty of quality-of-life changes that make it perform much better than its predecessors. However, if players are going in expecting it to be a revolution of the series, then they may want to stick to finding the game on sale.
