Borderlands 3 just saw the release of the final expansion of its season pass, with the game’s future updates now up in the air. Until more concrete info is given on what content will be coming, though, fans of Borderlands 3 can re-experience the Halloween event Bloody Harvest later this month.

The official Gearbox Twitter account posted the news, and while no concrete release date was given for the season event, a loose release window of “next week” was provided within the tweet. Little else is said apart from confirmation that Captain Haunt and the Rakk-O-Lantern enemies will return with the event, though another chance to play Bloody Harvest should be well-received by fans who missed out on the event’s original run and did not grab the Borderlands 3 event’s powerful grenade.

The post says nothing regarding new event content, though the tweet does tell fans to “stay tuned for more” in a way that makes fresh skins and loot a possibility. With some fans disappointed in recent offerings and wondering if Borderlands 3’s DLC was worth it, giving players some more content with the returning Bloody Harvest event would be a good move on Gearbox’s part. The event could easily be no different, though, providing the exact same rewards for those who took part in its original run.

Hardcore fans have found just about everything there is to see within Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, with the best DLC 4 legendaries already being found and SpongeBob Easter eggs being discovered. Players are eager for more content soon, so it will be interesting to see when exactly fans get something a bit meatier than a seasonal event. The next big update confirmed for the game will be arriving later this year and is centered around giving every Borderlands 3 vault hunter their own skill tree, so how Gearbox fills in the time between Bloody Harvest and that update will be interesting to see.

While there is plenty of potential in new abilities, like Amara’s fourth skill tree, not having new quests to go on and loot to hunt down could be a huge detriment to the release. Players still have plenty of unanswered questions regarding Borderlands 3’s story and future content plans, so hopefully, Gearbox will clarify more details on the game’s future after the Bloody Harvest event concludes once more. At the very least, though, players have something to do in Borderlands 3 this Halloween — even if it does end up being recycled content.

For Borderlands 3 players who are a bit behind on the game’s post-launch content and have yet to finish the Krieg DLC, they will want to keep an eye out for a secret room inside Vaulthalla. Fans will want to catch up fast, though, as Bloody Harvest’s return is only a week away and may (or may not) be bringing some new goodies along with it.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
