Unique Borderlands 3 Weapons that Deserve to Return in Future Borderlands Games

Borderlands 3 weapon skins

Blade Fury - The Blade Fury isn’t the only weapon that deals melee damage, but it has the added benefit of being an assault rifle with great range and the possibility of being fully automatic compared to the Face-puncher Legendary shotgun which also deals melee damage. In addition to dealing melee damage, this weapon also does standard damage on top of this. It opens many doors for melee builds and at its best allows them to be viable in Borderlands' endgame content.

D.N.A. - D.N.A. is an SMG with unique projectiles that can be hard to hit moving targets with, but each projectile does a random one of any elemental damage type in Borderlands 3 as splash damage. Because this weapon inherently has every elemental damage type, finding a god-roll version isn't necessary, especially because this weapon doesn't require much investment for it to be universally effective in the first place. This weapon can be dropped by General Traunt and certain bosses throughout Borderlands 3's Takedown at the Guardian Breach when playing on Mayhem level six or higher, and it's generally worth the trouble of collecting since it's so powerful.

Hunter-Seeker - This weapon is technically a grenade mod, but it’s practically a gun in disguise. This grenade mod slowly flies around, shooting at any enemies in front of it. It has a relatively high damage potential, but the main reason that this grenade mod is so useful is that the bullets it fires can activate skills from some of Borderlands 3’s Vault Hunters to buff the player, all while dealing its own damage. Overall, it’s a great buildcrafting tool that more Borderlands games could benefit from having.

Infinity - This weapon is a returning weapon from Borderlands 2, but it’s always a refreshing sight to see it show up in more games in the Borderlands franchise. This pistol only has one bullet in the magazine, but as the name implies, it can be fired infinitely, and it can drop with any Elemental damage type. Because this weapon has decent stats and unlimited ammo, it’s truly a great buildcrafting tool for any of the Borderlands franchise Vault Hunters no matter what stage of the game they are at. Whether players use it as their main weapon, or as a backup weapon, the Infinity is a reliable weapon to carry.

OPQ System - The OPQ System is a high-DPS assault rifle from the Revenge of the Cartels Seasonal Event. This weapon is great in the hands of any Vault Hunter, but its secondary fire is where a lot of its true value comes from. Activating the alternate firing mode on this weapon will cause it to turn into a drone that follows the player and shoots at any enemies the player looks at. This weapon wasn’t always legendary grade, but it got a legendary version after its original version became very popular, and players can get this weapon any time now that the Seasonal Events are permanently available. This weapon is a great testament to how game-changing the weapons with alternate firing modes can be in Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
