When it comes to the arsenal of weapons in Borderlands 2, many tend to overlook the shoddier Bandit-made guns. It makes sense, as they usually resemble little more than scrap heaps, cobbled together by salvaged parts. Not only this, but they're notorious for having spotty accuracy, long reload times, and average power at best. Still, there's a certain charm to some of these weapons, which tend to resemble steampunk gadgets.

Though they have their faults, Bandit weapons have some pretty rapid-fire rates and magazine sizes, making them great complements for weapon swaps and close-range skirmishes. For those who seek to give these weapons another chance, look no further. This list tackles some of the best guns this tribal faction has to offer A few can even give sophisticated brands a run for their money.

10 Madhous!

Borderlands 2 Madhous! firing at enemy

True to its name, this assault rifle pumps out loads of damage by way of swerving, bouncing bullets. It's anarchy in a gun, which is further dialed up by the elemental effects that augmented it. Unfortunately for its user, the weapon tends to miss its targets more than hit them.

Still, a case can be made for its inclusion here. Gamers can work with its insane patterns by firing at the floor in close quarters near mobs of enemies to clear them out. Players can obtain this gun from the Bandit miniboss Mad Dog in Lynchwood.

9 Tinderbox

This powerful little pistol can be found from Captain Flynt in Southern Shelf, as well as his son Sparky in Wam Bam Island (Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax).

Though most of its stats are pretty tepid, the elemental damage from the Incendiary shots and splash damage can really make an impact. It's not going to hold up deep into the game, but it's pretty solid for such an early-game pickup.

8 Bone Shredder

Borderlands 2 Bone Shredder star card

Living up to the stereotype that comes with the brand, the Bone Shredder is a super-erratic, inaccurate weapon from long and even medium range. Still, unlike many of its ilk, this thing can really shred when clashing with foes up-close-and-personal. It's a common drop from Bone Head 2.0 in Arid Nexus - Badlands as well as The Raid on Digistruct Peak.

Between its swift rate of fire, hefty magazine size, and elemental features, the Bone Shredder can be pretty effective in melting away the health of foes. This is especially the case with smaller, more nimble enemies like Rakks and Spiderants. Not only this, but it also boasts the rare SMG feature of firing multiple bullets per shot, further dialing up the DPS.

7 Teeth Of Terramorphous

When it comes to fleshy targets in BL2, the Teeth of Terramorphous can gnaw down the health of enemies pretty quickly. Though it doesn't fire all-too fast, it does blast two horizontal rows of 6 rounds a pop. These fittingly have the behavior and trajectory of a pair of biting fangs. Find this weapon as a rare drop from — who else? — Terramorphous the Invincible in Terramorphous Peak.

The weapon is always Incendiary, ensuring some damage-over-time to complement its solid raw power. Of course, being both a Bandit brand and a shotgun, its range and accuracy is quite rough, to say the least. Still, it's a surprisingly powerful option when dealing with scurrying baddies nearby.

6 Sawbar

It's often a safe bet that a gun with the coveted pearlescent tag will be respectable enough, even when said weapon is Bandit-made. That's certainly the case with this fiery tool of destruction. Players can find it as a drop from Legendary Loot Midgets.

Its average accuracy is mitigated by its three-projectile spread and its ability to blast targets behind cover with explosions. This added splash damage can really make an impact on larger, lumbering foes, and can even yield up to a 600% increase in damage if each projectile hits its mark. The Sawbar is definitely great at close and mid-range wars of attrition.

5 Orc

Naturally, this mythical beast comes from the fantasy-themed DLC pack, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. Specifically, players can get it from the mission Magic Slaughter: Round 5 within Murderlin's Temple. Orc-users can channel their inner Rambo by wailing on enemies for long bouts without needing to reload.

Moreover, it's equipped with the odd-but-fun feature of generating a random boost or perk. These include extra pellets, a 50% fire rate increase, a 17% damage buff, a 2x reload speed, and even ricocheting bullets. Even more interestingly, this boost can be passed to another gun by swapping it out. It's fitting that this is loosely associated with Tiny Tina, given its erratic, unpredictable nature.

4  Jolly Roger

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty yields one of the better Bandit weapons that players can find and a pretty underrated shotgun at that. Specifically, players can nab it during the mission Just Desserts For Desert Deserters.

Its fixed spread pattern and increased pellet count allows it to pump out quite a bit of damage while covering ample turf. In fact, it blasts a whopping 18 pellets at the cost of just 3 ammo, making it strong as well as resourceful. Factor in the elemental power on top of this, and the Jolly Rogger proves a solid shotty for crowd control and broader foes.

3 Tattler

This strong, sporadic SMG can be found as a rare drop from Hyperius the Invincible in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, or the Seraph Vendor in Oasis (Captain Scarlett). The high rate of fire and deadly blade attachment are a good pair. Players can pelt a target at close or mid-range, then go in for the kill with a powerful melee swipe.

The weapon also dishes out added elemental damage, offering multiple ways to inflict pain when up-close and personal. It's optimal for run-and-gun chaos.

2 Slagga

Borderlands 2 Slagga firing at enemies with corrosive

This famous Bandit gun is similar to its Tattler brethren, other than its exclusive specialty in Slagging targets. It's most often dropped from Tector & Jimbo Hodunk in The Dust, along with the Sorcerer's Daughter in the Lair of Infinite Agony (Tiny Tina).

With low accuracy and harsh recoil, the Slagga doesn't fire shots so much as violently spit them out. Still, the weapon's become notorious for the handy "slag-n-swap" technique. Players kick off an encounter by peppering and weakening targets with a Slag gun, then swapping it out and dealing the finishing blow with a stronger weapon. With its large magazine size and speedy fire rate, players can smoothly switch on the fly.

1 Badaboom

Borderlands 2 Badaboom stat card

The aptly-named Badaboom isn't just the best weapon that's Bandit-made, but also one of the most powerful rocket launchers in BL2. The coveted launcher is most often dropped from King Mong in Eridium Blight.

It's essentially an instant killing machine, assuming the shots can find their mark. It launches six rockets per shot, and comes with elemental augments to boot. This weapon's spread is fairly even and reliable, making it likely that all or most shots will hit, dealing a death blow. As such, this beast is great for boss showdowns, as well as desperation Second Winds.
