After the rousing success of The Mandalorian and the exhilarating reveal at the end of the second season finale, fans have been clamoring for information about the follow-up series. The Book of Boba Fett finally revealed its first full trailer, and alongside being fantastic overall, the big reveal came with a variety of fun details for fans to pore over.

Since the original trilogy, Boba Fett has been an instant fan favorite. Attempts at a Boba Fett film or series have been numerous but largely ill-fated. This series is produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, and episodes are set to be directed by the pair alongside Robert Rodriguez and Bryce Dallas Howard, all of whom also worked on The Mandalorian.

Any Star Wars fan can attest to the limited but impactful presence of Boba Fett in the original trilogy. The famed bounty hunter serves as a hired gun for Darth Vader, perhaps best known for delivering Han Solo's frozen body to Jabba the Hutt. Its just outside Jabba's fortress that Boba met his original end in the nightmarish teeth of the Sarlacc pit, a fate he has only just been revealed to have canonically escaped. This fortress was later taken over by Bibb Fortuna after Jabba was slain by Princess Leia. Fortuna's reign ended in the aforementioned after-credits scene in The Mandalorian, when Boba Fett and his companion Fennec Shand took the throne. The new trailer has revealed the trajectory of the new series, Fett and Shand trying to unite Jabba's former lieutenants to create even more profit for the gangs.

One very fun Easter egg of the trailer comes in the form of Boba Fett's dialogue. Fett has always been taciturn, speaking very rarely and preferring to communicate through action. His motivations are typically financial, though he takes a break to be altruistic during his appearance in The Mandalorian. Fett makes it clear here that he's out for profit, insisting that cooperation will make all participants rich. The lines themselves are very interesting, but even the number of lines contain a little nod to the original series. Hardcore fans know the classic joke about Boba Fett, he's iconic for his look despite his limited presence. Fett has exactly six pieces of dialogue in the original trilogy, five sentences, and one Willhelm scream. Fett says exactly six sentences in the trailer as well, a fun nod to his new upgraded status.

Fett and Shand seem to be gathering a sort-of council of crime bosses, comprised of Jabba's warring former inferiors. The seat of power vacated by Jabba, then by Fortuna left a power vacuum that is creating a great deal of competition in the criminal world. In The Mandalorian, the understaffed X-Wing pilots that save Din from the ice spiders in Chapter 10 mention the out-of-control violence by the gangs after the fall of the republic. Echoing this concept, a brief shot in this trailer shows Fett's helmet full of Republic currency being thrown to the ground, a symbol of its worthlessness. Clearly, the fragility of power and the danger of the throne are key themes in this series. Fett seems untouchable, but every person that takes the throne he now occupies has died horribly.

The trailer shows off a ton of recognizable aliens from throughout the series. Fett and Shand seem to meet an Ithorian, the Hammerhead-like being seated on a complex throne. Ithorian's are incapable of speaking the common languages, so this Ithorian is wearing a translator collar. On the subject of known aliens, Jabba's Gamorrean guards, the big green pig-men, appear prominently. Evidently, they'll guard whoever sits on the throne, even if they just killed their last charge. The seats at the table are also occupied by many fascinating aliens, Trandoshans, Aqualish, and Klatooinians. Trandoshans are reptilian creatures best represented by bounty hunter Bossk. The best-known Aqualish is Ponda Baba, the thug who harasses Luke in A New Hope and gets his arm sliced off for it. A couple of Klatooinians show up in Jabba's castle, both of whom are cut down as the heroes escape from their appointed executions at the Sarlaac pit.

One brief shot in the trailer shows off a small detachment of Tuskan Raiders traveling through a sandstorm. This is intriguing for a number of reasons, first of all, the Raiders are native to Tatooine, meaning the series might make its way to that famed planet. The city Fett and Shand walk through looks much larger and more regal than any of the meager settlements on Tatooine, so its hard to know if the Raiders have appeared elsewhere or if Tatooine has really improved. Perhaps more interestingly, Fett has a deep history with the Tusken Raiders. He carries a Tusken rifle, he lived with them for some time and he has them to thank for aiding him after his tussle with the Sarlacc. Especially with the central theme of Fett consolidating power and rallying others to his banner, the Raiders could be a part of his plan. Fett leading a band of Tusken Raiders to control more of the underground is a brilliant concept.

It's clear that much is being hidden about The Book of Boba Fett, but there are a lot of interesting details that could slip by some viewers. From fun callbacks to interesting concepts, the series is keeping fans on the edges of their seats.
