God of War creator David Jaffe has responded to a claim that Bloodborne is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 which cited him as a source. It is seemingly that time of the month again when Bloodborne inexplicably trends on Twitter and the murmurings of a remaster/remake/port surface once more.

The last time this happened, it was caused by a single tweet that asked what theoretical sequel would fans keep from a line-up of PlayStation exclusives, knowing that the others would never exist. Fans of Bloodborne, FromSoftware's Lovecraftian masterpiece, are understandably desperate for any tangible news regarding the near decade-old title. This is especially because it is one of the few PlayStation exclusives not to receive a new-generation patch for improved resolutions and frame rate. Many also believe that a Bloodborne PC port would be an easy win for Sony.

Funnily enough, the recent round of rumors was started by the same Twitter account as last time, RinoTheBouncer, who this time claimed outright that Bloodborne is coming to PC, PS5, and is due to be announced at the next PlayStation Showcase. Gamers have been burnt time and time again when it comes to Bloodborne, so the replies were brimming with skepticism and people begging for it to be true. Rino listed the source of this claim as David Jaffe without any further elaboration, but such a prestigious name raised some eyebrows.

Jaffe, the creator of God of War who no longer works for Sony, allegedly claimed he heard the aforementioned news from an insider. A few hours later, Jaffe released a video to Twitter that clarified his statements, in which he seemed thoroughly frustrated by the situation. Jaffe claims to know a reporter that confirmed a new version of Bloodborne is a real thing and that a reveal should be "sooner than later." He refuted ever saying that it would be a part of an upcoming PlayStation Showcase and has no idea if one is even planned. Jaffe also vehemently denied leaking anything, believing that doing such a thing would be disrespectful to anyone involved in the project.

Although Bloodborne rumors have existed on Twitter like an itch that just will not disappear for the better part of a decade, Jaffe certainly has faith in the journalist that disclosed the news to him. She could not confirm if it was a remaster or remake, only that something to do with Bloodborne was in development. Perhaps this comes to fruition eventually, but it would certainly be wise to not hold out hope. And gamers would much prefer that a PC port of Bloodbornenot turn out like The Last of Us Part 1, so whatever studio is assigned to it should take as much time as needed.

Bloodborne is available for PS4.
