Bloodborne is a challenging dark fantasy game FromSoftware released in March 2015. It features a brilliant level design and lore that fans can never get enough of. Unlike the Dark Souls series,Bloodborne encourages aggressive playstyle with its unique Rally combat mechanic. Hunters must learn to parry enemies with their firearms instead of a shield.

It may seem like a difficult journey ahead for Hunters, but there are armor sets they will find along the way to help them be prepared for the hunt. Although there are many who only dress up for fashion, it's still better to know which of the armor sets suits a certain situation. After all, long is the hunt.

10 Harrowed Set

The Harrowed Set in Bloodborne

Despite its tattered appearance, the Harrowed Set has the highest physical defense in Bloodborne. It's also highly resistant to poison and frenzy, making it suitable wherever the hunter goes—may it be PVE or PVP. Many hunters refuse to wear this deceptive set because of its aesthetics. But when push comes to shove, it's the stats that matter.

How To Get The Harrowed Set

Hunters can get the complete set at the Fishing Hamlet, the last area of the DLC. From the Fishing Hamlet lamp, proceed to the well area. On the far left side is a stone pathway leading up to the roof of the huts. There's an opening towards the room where the set is, which is guarded by two Hamlet Fishmen.

9 Yharnam Hunter Set

The Yharnam Hunter Set in Bloodborne

The first of the gendered armor sets in Bloodborne. The female set features a shoulder cape and a long coat with a short front slit and a back slit. The male set features crossed leather straps on the chest, with dangling bullets on one strap, and a long coat with an open front slit and back slit. It offers an all-around protection that hunters can rely on.

How To Get The Yharnam Hunter Set

Unlike the Harrowed Set that can only be accessed in the late game, hunters can get this set early in the game through the Bath Messengers in the Hunter's Dream. A hunter must have one insight for them to appear, and a total of 2,500 blood echoes on hand to purchase the entire set.

8 Tomb Prospector Set

The Tomb Prospector Set in Bloodborne

The armor set that many hunters switch to when exploring the mysterious depths of the chalice dungeons—it's not called the Tomb Prospector set for nothing. It's the first of the two armors with the highest thrust defense. It also features above-average arcane, elemental, poison, and frenzy resistance to protect hunters from tricky enemies guarding the secrets of the old labyrinth. It's an early-game armor a hunter can rely on when fighting against enemies wielding hunter tools.

How To Get The Tomb Prospector Set

Hunters must get the Radiant Sword Hunter badge to unlock the set at the Bath Messengers and a total of 36,000 blood echoes to purchase it. They can find the chest containing the said badge by proceeding through the right doors of the Cathedral Ward and making their way to the top of a three-story tower.

7 Executioner Set

The Executioner Set in Bloodborne

An armor set that is loved by hunters embracing the executioner role. It has the highest blunt and melee defense, along with an excellent bolt defense. It's great against powerful Tonitrus users. It's also among the garbs hunters can wear to save Adella the Nun. She will tell hunters some lore only a few may know.

How To Get The Executioner Set

The garb, gauntlets, and trousers can be found in the Forsaken Cainhurst Castle. It's on a corpse, which is guarded by two Lost Child of Antiquity, in a statue-filled balcony near the elevator shortcut. The Gold Ardeo can only be purchased by getting the Wheel Hunter Badge from Alfred and having 60,000 blood echoes on hand.

6 Butcher Set

The Butcher Set in Bloodborne

The second of the two armors with the highest thrust defense, which also features the highest rapid poison resistance in Bloodborne. It's a great armor to switch to when against Chikage (a powerful skill weapon) users and some enemies in Mergo's Loft and Chalice Dungeons. It's also best against the infamous Blood-Starved Beast's rapid poison attacks in the higher NG cycles.

How To Get The Butcher Set

Hunters can find the entire set near the Nightmare's Church in the DLC. There's a hidden path between the two Nightmare Executioners, on the right side of the area.

5 Henryk's Hunter Set

The Henryk's Hunter Set in Bloodborne

A favorite armor set to wear against Darkbeast Paarl, the blue lightning beast of Hypogean Gaol, because it has the highest Bolt resistance in Bloodborne. It also offers great physical defense and slightly above average overall protection to the hunters.

How To Get Henryk's Hunter Set

Hunters must first open all of the three gates in the Cathedral Ward. The Cathedral Plaza must be accessible for Eileen to appear. Hunters can unlock all the gates in two ways:

• Defeating the Blood-Starved Beast in Old Yharnam, which opens the locked right door in the Cathedral Ward.

• Purchasing the Hunter Chief Emblem through the Bath Messengers for 10,000 blood echoes, which will only available once the Cleric Beast has been defeated.

Talk to Eileen before proceeding to the Tomb of Odeon, where Henryk is. Once Henryk is defeated, the set can then be purchased in the Insight Bath MessengersShop for a total of 6 insights.

4 Gascoigne's Set

The Gascoigne Set in Bloodborne

A decent armor set hunters wear for the moderate protection it offers or for its sleek fashion. It features above-average poison resistance, which is extremely useful to hunters when exploring and clearing Old Yharnam—an optional area right after defeating Gascoigne (among the most satisfying boss fights). It's among the garbs Adella the Nun will recognize upon talking to her and sending her to a safe shelter.

How To Get Gascoigne's Set

Hunters must defeat Gascoigne to unlock it in the Insight Bath Messengers Shop and have at least 6 insights to purchase the entire set.

3 Black Church Set

The Black Church Set in Bloodborne

Despite its average physical defense, the Black Church Set features above-average resistance to Blood, Arcane, Fire, and Bolt damage. It's an excellent early game set hunters can wear when fighting against Henryk, a hostile NPC who is very aggressive with his powerful pistol. There's a white version of this set with different stats that can be found later in the game.

How To Get The Black Church Set

Go to the Cathedral Ward, take the left path, and proceed towards the Plaza Gate. Make a left and proceed to a narrow path leading to an alley, past the two Church Servants. Make a right and explore the left corners to find the set on a corpse.

2 Bone Ash Set

The Bone Ash Set in Bloodborne

This armor set has the second-best fire and bolt resistance in Bloodborne. It's effective against Laurence, The First Vicar. While the Yamamura set may have the first-best fire resistance, it doesn't feature decent overall protection, unlike the Bone Ash Set. It has an above-average physical defense but with the worst blood resistance.

How To Get The Bone Ash Set

Hunters must clear the Pthumeru Chalice Dungeon, at least down to the second layer to get the Central Pthumeru Chalice. The set can only be purchasable through the Insight Bath Messengers Shop for a total of 10 insights upon defeating Keeper of the Old Lords in the second layer of the Central Pthumeru Chalice.

1 Graveguard Set

The Graveguard Set in Bloodborne

An armor set that is hidden in one of the worst areas in Bloodborne. Many hunters pair this set with the Burial Blade to become the Crimson Grim Reaper. The Graveguard Set has average physical defenses, and blood and fire resistance. But it has the highest frenzy resistance and decent poison resistance making it effective against the infamous Winter Lanterns (among the hardest non-boss enemies) and Brain of Mensis.

How To Get The Graveguard Set

Hunters proceed to the second half of the Forbidden Woods. Upon reaching the road where the snakes are, proceed to the far left and keep moving forwards until a giant snake can be seen from afar. There will be a gap on the left side to jump across on, this is where the set is located. Hunters must again jump across to the other side to get the mask.
