Ichigo's return to the battlefield has put into motion the next step in Yhwach's plan, and as he rushes forth to stop the Quincy King, the sight of UryÅ« Ishida draped in the uniform of the Sternritters is a huge shock as the focus of this season – the Separation, becomes apparent, and the characters decide their alignment. Red and blue have been the primary colours in this season of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, with the majority of the lighting being distinctly reflective of the current state of the Seireitei, and the significance of the symbolic contrast of these colours with regard to the events of the arc.

BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War is the anime adaptation of the final arc of Tite Kubo's manga, and it is set to run for a total of 52 episodes spread evenly over four cours. The first season of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War aired from October to December 2022, while the current season began airing in July this year, with the finale expected at the end of September.

The original BLEACH manga was published in Shueisha's Shо̄nen Jump, running for 74 volumes from August 2001 to August 2016, with the Echoing Jaws of Hell one-shot being released in 2021 as a surprise for the 20th anniversary of the series.
