Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War has renewed interest in this series once again, with the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki being quite engaging indeed. While there's no denying that both the manga and anime have come under their fair share of criticism, Bleach is still laden with quality moments and well-defined powerups that make the battles in this series such a joy to watch.

There are many side characters in Bleach who get to enjoy their time in the spotlight quite a bit. This includes Yasutora Sado, Ichigo's classmate who developed a close bond with the protagonist after learning to stand up for himself with a little bit of help from his friend. Nicknamed Chad, this brawler actually develops some impressive powers over the course of the series. The best of the bunch are mentioned below.

6 Chad Catapult

Chad in Bleach

To call this an ability would be a stretch, but there's a point in the anime where Chad uses his monstrous physical strength to throw Rukia into the air. This in itself showed Chad's amazing physical prowess and how he was perfect for a powerup that would let him make the most of his amazing physical strength.

Of course, it would take a while for Chad to get some unique powers of his own. Until then, his natural strength was the only thing that he could rely on.

5 Grua Tirar

Yasutora Sado in Bleach

Chad has several physical abilities in his repertoire that get accentuated after he develops his Fullbring powers. This allows him to take enemies twice his size and throw them around like ragdolls with a well-placed Crane Throw.

This move maintains the trend of Chad naming his powers in Spanish, with Grua Tirar being a pretty nifty ability in his arsenal. However, he doesn't really use this ability all that often and resorts to the other moves he unlocks after his arm transforms into something truly remarkable.

4 Brazo Derecha De Gigante

Brazo Derecha De Gigante in Bleach

Chad finally manages to stand on his own two feet against the various supernatural beings he has to fight over the course of Bleach once he manages to awaken a dormant power in his right hand. This transforms his arm into a black armored appendage with a magenta hue that hits like a truck and can take many powerful fighters out of commission. As Chad slowly starts getting accustomed to his powers, he also manages to unlock an alternate form of this augmented arm that transforms it into a shield and lets him prioritize both defense and offense at the same time.

A really interesting thing about this power is that it was initially explained as nothing more than a manifestation of Chad's Soul powers after he hung out with Ichigo for too long. Later on in the series, this ability is explained to be that of a Fullbring with their introduction after Aizen is taken out. It's a simple yet notable change that really fleshes Chad's powers out quite a bit.

3 El Directo

El Directo in Bleach

El Directo is one of Chad's most powerful attacks that he unlocks after his arm transforms into Brazo Derecha de Gigante. This turns his arm into a spiritual cannon that resembles a car's exhaust pipe, storing a ton of energy before unleashing it all in an explosive blast that absolutely decimates any enemy in its path.

This ability can be used to both accelerate the momentum of his punches or unleash a ranged attack that deals devastating damage. It's easily one of the most effective moves in his arsenal and does a great job of annihilating most of his threats in a definitive fashion.

2 Brazo Izquierda Del Diablo

Yasutora Sado The Bond

Given the sheer number of powerups that characters experience over the course of Bleach, it was only a matter of time before Chad would also benefit from an increase in power. This was achieved with the Brazo Izquierda del Diablo, which allowed Chad's left arm to also play a major role in battle. The name stands for "Left Arm of the Devil" and definitely justifies this moniker.

This arm is colored white with a red line running down the center. There's a spike on the left shoulder as well, with his fingertips having red diamond-shaped marks. It's a great addition to Chad's list of abilities that make him quite a force to be reckoned with indeed. It also lets him access one of his strongest moves.

1 La Muerte

Yasutora Sado

El Directo is a move that Chad uses from his right hand, and La Muerte is pretty much the same but from his left hand instead. In this move, Chad charges up spiritual power in his fingertips and uses his to augment the strength of his blow, unleashing it all in a devasting punch that can absolutely mow down his opposition if they don't have the means to withstand such an attack or nullify the power of this blow.

Not only does this move pack a serious punch, but it also leaves a skull-shaped mark at the point of impact. This makes the move quite visually striking and one of Chad's signature moves that he uses to absolutely wipe the floor with. The main members of the Espada might stand a chance of withstanding this blow, but the same can't be said for the Privaron Espada, who will be absolutely crushed by the impact of this move.
