Blasphemous 2 players will start the game off with a measly two Bile Flasks --these are the red-colored jars that sit underneath the health and Fervour meter at the top-left corner of the screen. By pressing the X button (Switch), players can heal their character while exploring the complex Metroidvania-style map. Of course, players will be able to carry up to six Bile Flasks, but in order to unlock more, they'll need to find Blasphemous 2's Empty Receptacles.

There are four of these Receptacles to find across the map, and this guide will show players where to find them all, as well as how to find the Blood Upgrade room so that players can give them to an NPC.

Where to Find Blood Upgrade Room (Bile Flask Upgrade)

In order to find the NPC that takes the Empty Receptacles, players can start at the City of the Blessed Name and head to the area to the right. Jump across the platform in the next room and head one screen right. (Players might need to progress and unlock more skills before they can reach this room). Head down the ladder and enter the room at the bottom.

Players can also check out the video below to find the Blood Upgrade room in Blasphemous 2.

Empty Receptacle Locations in Blasphemous 2

As for where the four secret Empty Receptacles are located, we have a handy dandy map below that will show players just where to go. However, it's worth noting that some of these items can only be reached after unlocking certain abilities, so if a player cannot access the item, return later after making some progress elsewhere.

  • Empty Receptacle 1 is in Profundo Lamento underneath the City of the Blessed Name.
  • Empty Receptacle 2 is in the Severed Tower, west of Repose of the Silent One.
  • Empty Receptacle 3 is in the Elevated Temples.
  • The fourth one can be obtained from the Streets of Wakes, but in order to get the item there, players will have to find three of the missing daughters first and complete their combat challenges.

Blasphemous 2 players can also turn in Chalices to the NPC to increase their max health and Crystal Shards to increase max Fervour.

Blasphemous 2 is available on PC, PS4/5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
