With Black Widow finally releasing next month after several delays, the people on and behind the movie are trying to keep some big twists under wraps. However, it appears that one of the secrets of Rachel Weisz's character was accidentally revealed by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

There have been a number of rumors about one of the big reveals in Black Widow. While it doesn't appear as though the biggest of big reveals was accidentally made the other night, Weisz thinks Kimmel wasn't supposed to divulge the "second name" of her character.

Weisz was part of a video call on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in order to talk about the upcoming film. The late-night host revealed that Weisz plays a character called Melina Votokoff in Black Widow as he was introducing the actor. When she did come on the show, Weisz told Kimmel that she didn't think he was supposed to say the character's last name. She added that she thought it was a Marvel Cinematic Universe secret.

Kimmel seemed apologetic, asking if it was a secret that he just ruined. Weisz responded that she thought he let the cat out of the bag, but she also seemed to shrug it off with an "oh well." That prompted the late-night host to press the Black Widow star on what sort of secrets the cast was supposed to keep. Weisz said that there were so many rules on what she wasn't supposed to say that there was a list. However, she also lost that list, leading to her only "thinking" that the second name of her character was supposed to be "hush-hush"

Of course, it appears Weisz might actually be talking about Melina's alter-ego that is actually under wraps. The fact that she plays Melina Vostokoff in Black Widow has been public knowledge among fans of the MCU for quite a while now. In the comics, Vostokoff's alter ego is known as Iron Maiden and she is a rival to Natasha Romanoff's Black Widow. However, there have been rumors that Weisz's character specifically could have a twist.

It's known that one of the big bads in Black Widow is Taskmaster, a villain who is well known for being able to mimic the physical abilities of anyone they fight. Just who is behind Taskmaster's mask has been kept under wraps since the character was first revealed in one of the later trailers for the movie. Some fans believe Vostokoff might be taking on that role in the upcoming film. If that's true, Weisz managed to continue to keep that secret during her appearance with Kimmel.

Black Widow will release in theaters and the Disney Plus Premier Access service on July 9, 2021.
