After an extremely long wait, Marvel Studios’ Black Widow finally premiered in July and the film has fans talking about the backstory of one of the most loved Avengers members. Marvel boss Kevin Feige hopped on to social media recently to chat with fans about the film that has been receiving a lot of praise online.

Using the hashtag #BlackWidowWatchParty, fans got the opportunity to ask Feige questions about the film, Natasha Romanoff, and her extremely dysfunctional family. The conversation, dubbed watch party, began at 6:30P ST and Feige responded to select fan questions on Twitter, revealing inside scoop and behind-the-scenes action from the making of Black Widow.

As part of the conversation, Feige revealed that his favorite scene from Black Widow is the reunion of Romanoff’s family. After two decades of living apart, Natasha, Yelena, and Alexei arrive at a remote location where Melina is operating and sit down for an awkward meal. Their positions at the dining table are exactly the same as the ones from the first dinner scene earlier in the film before the young family goes on the run. Feige referred to the second dinner scene as the “heart of the movie,” probably because it is the one moment where the family, as adults, gets together and is able to talk about their feelings. In the film, fans see Romanoff move around locations pretty quickly. Feige reveals that the production took place in “3 different continents: North America, Europe, and Africa.” A memorable scene for him was when Scarlett Johansson had to jump into “freezing cold water” in Norway to get the perfect shot. The location was such that there weren’t many hotels nearby, and Feige confirms that the cast and crew were forced to stay at a hotel boat that was “used for shift workers on the oil rigs and wind turbines.”

A lot of other interesting information was revealed during the Q&A session. Feige has confirmed that while Yelena will be carrying Natasha’s memory forward, she will “be doing it in her own way as her own character.” This, along with the post-credits scene of Black Widow, confirms that fans will be seeing more of Yelena moving forward. Her iconic vest was thought of specifically for the film in order to “tie Yelena and Natasha's stories together beyond this film.” Additionally, it does create a “surprising emotional response” when fans go back and watch Avengers: Infinity War again, where Johansson sports the vest.

Another character that is confirmed to return is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. “All of us at Marvel Studios are excited to have [Julia Louis-Dreyfus] in the MCU,” Feige wrote. There were mixed reactions to the big Taskmaster reveal, but Feige thanked Olga Kurylenko for keeping the big secret for “over two years.” The mid-air fight between her and Natasha is one that required a lot of work. Feige told fans that the sequence required a “talented team of skydivers to do dozens and dozens of real-life jumps to get all the footage.”

The promise of seeing more of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and Yelena is likely exciting news for fans. While most of the focus regarding the MCU's future has been on the multiverse storylines and the rumored introduction of the Young Avengers, both Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have hinted at the formation of a different team through Val's recruitment of both Yelena and John Walker, the latter of whom was disgraced and forced to relinquish his title as the new Captain America.

Black Widow is now running in theaters and streaming exclusively on Disney Plus.
