The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer gave fans a glimpse at what's to come as the story of Wakanda continues. However, this time around the story of Wakanda will return without king T'Challa, as Boseman tragically passed back in the summer of 2020 after sadly losing his private battle against colon cancer. Back when Boseman abruptly passed, fans came together to mourn the life and ever-growing career of the beloved actor. The Black Panther star's passing was a catalyst for global heartache, while also causing many fans to question how will the Black Panther franchise would live on without Boseman.

This question has sparked outrage amongst fans online due to Marvel Studios' choice to not recast the role of T'Challa. The hashtag #RecastTChalla has found itself trending on Twitter once again, with fans weighing in on the heated debate over whether another actor should stand in the role of T'Challa and the iconic Wakanda hero known as the Black Panther. Fans took to Twitter following the release of the Wakanda Forever trailer to express that the choice to kill off Boseman's Black Panther doesn’t honor his legacy and it's not what his family wanted to happen. More fans weighed in by giving their point of view on Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler's executive decision to not recast the character.

The heated online discussions about keeping T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are still circulating, and they will most likely still be swirling once the sequel hits the big screen in November 2022. Despite the conflicting views, the Comic-Con look inside at what’s to come is a beacon of light for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, showing them that the epic story of the Wakanda heroes will live on in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever despite and in honor of what's been lost in the midst.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to release in theaters on November 11, 2022.
