Several games have tried to replicate the Left 4 Dead formula, but few have succeeded. There’s something special to how the four-player co-op game handled the age-old classic of bashing zombies, and a lot of games have failed to capture that magic. There’s where Back 4 Blood comes in, as a true spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead.
Truth be told, it has its own shortcomings such as technical issues and issues with solo campaigns, but as we wrote in our Back 4 Blood review, “[it] is a true spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead where it counts.” As such, it’s likely to be a big gift for this coming holiday season.
As a quick note, though, Back 4 Blood is available on Game Pass for PC and Xbox platforms. This means that the best way to gift Back 4 Blood for these gamers is with a Game Pass subscription, as not only will they be able to access, download, and play this game, but they’ll have access to hundreds of other games too. Game Pass is the gift that keeps on giving, but for PlayStation owners, they may want to see what’s available for Black Friday.
It should be noted that any purchased PS4 copy of Back 4 Blood can be upgraded to the PS5 version for free, as long as the user has a disc version PS5. This is good because Walmart is listing Back 4 Blood as part of its Black Friday sales, and it should be noted that it only shows the PS4 version. It may very well have the PS5 version too, but either way, the Walmart Black Friday ad lists it at $25.

This is a solid deal and it’s hard to imagine there will be any better for Black Friday, so fans will want to take note of when this deal goes live AS IT IS NOT AS OF THIS WRITING. Walmart’s Black Friday sale begins online on November 22 (7 PM ET) and in-stores on November 26, the day of Black Friday, at 5 AM local time.
Those shopping for a PS5 owner, or for those receiving a PS5 this holiday season, should be aware of several other great games at good discounts at Walmart. The Black Friday ad also lists Deathloop at $25, and that’s two hot and popular games for 50 bucks—if someone picked up both. As such, there are a lot of great deals for PS5 owners coming that won’t break the bank either.
