Warning: The following post contains major Black Adam spoilersDwayne Johnson's Black Adam has finally premiered in theaters, but one of the biggest surprises was spoiled well before the DC film was released. A mid-credits scene featuring Henry Cavill as Superman leaked online about a week before, and producer Hiram Garcia was less-than-thrilled about the situation.

In the lead-up to Black Adam hitting theaters, Johnson often hinted at a potential showdown between Superman and Black down the line, and speculation about Cavill's return as Superman only grew as the film's release date inched closer. Just after the film held its world premiere in New York, the Black Adam mid-credits scene with Cavill as Superman leaked online and spread, though Warner Bros.' effort to take down the footage was in full force.

While the possibility of Cavill's return as Superman had already been known to fans, the Black Adam leak spoiled what might have been a welcomed surprise confirmation for fans who have long been wanting to the actor reprise his role as the Man of Steel. "Oh my God, it is so frustrating. You work so hard, but look, we understand that this ending and this dream, this family dream that we had to bring to life, we knew that it was going to have an effect on the fans that were just like, 'Oh my God!' We heard them begging for it for so long," Garcia said of the leak during an interview with Slash Film. "We've been wanting it for so long. It's disappointing that it leaks. You hope that the fans that are so passionate about it really do their best to block it out so that they can go and get the movie and enjoy it."

Despite his frustration, Garcia acknowledged that leaks are a part of the package when dealing with fans as passionate as the DC crowd, though Warner Bros. will still try to ensure spoilers are kept under wraps. "Unfortunately, there's always a few people that will try and spoil it for the rest of the world," said the Black Adam producer. "We've been working with Warner Bros. to try and get some of those things under control, but really, it spreads like wildfire. It's something you always know you have to deal with when you start testing the movie."

Regardless, the scene leaked and Black Adam is now out for the world to see, so Superman's return is now a forgone conclusion, though precise plans for the character's future are only just developing. Warner Bros. is reportedly planning what would essentially be Man of Steel 2 and Johnson is said to be pushing hard for a Black Adam vs Superman film.

That said, neither of these projects seem to have received the official greenlit, so there are probably a few behind-the-scenes matters to work out before Cavill's next project as Superman is officially a go. Nonetheless, the Black Adam mid-credits scene proves that the higher-ups at Warner Bros. are finally serious about bringing Cavill back, which alone should be worthy of celebration for many fans.
