Above all, Biomutant has included a lot of tiny details that are easy to miss, but add texture and depth to the story and the game in general. These snippets and hints come in all shapes and sizes, but the most intriguing of them are the side quests players can find along the way.

10 Moog - Given By Moog After Finding The Sqvips

Biomutant Monster Hunting

Moog is assembling something to help people navigate through the world and points out places to avoid. He's recruiting helpers and apprentices to help him identify worrisome places, mapping out the whereabouts of Sqvips and Munsters as well.

Through this side quest, any player can become Moog's helper. If they help him with finding Sqvips, he will reward players with all kinds of handy equipment.

9 Boom - Complete Boom Sploder

Biomutant Fire

Boom is a character in Biomutant who offers an interesting little side quest. This adventure is hard to miss. It's an optional quest, and while a lot of people ignore these extra miles, this is one that's worth it.

First of all, completing the quest grants players a lot of XP and Blaze Gloves that will prove to be an asset throughout the game. But the best part of this quest is Boom himself. He, well, likes to make things go boom, and is a highly entertaining character.

8 Captives - All Over The Map

Captives is a fun one, mainly because it's an ongoing quest and not a linear side story. Bandits are keeping captives in cages all over the place. Players must find and free them one by one, whatever it may take. Completing the quest by freeing all captives will grant players some new equipment and a 500 XP boost.

Furthermore, each separate captive gives something to the player. Meanwhile, not helping – which is an option – will grant them 2 Dark Aura, so think twice before giving in. There are 23 captives, and their fate lies in the hands of the player. All sectors can hold some captives, so people need to keep one eye open at all times.

7 Workout - Found Throughout The Map

While this is not an official side quest, it can grant the players some extra oomph throughout the gameplay. It's also just a fun hidden element of the game, which rings true to the feel of a side quest. To survive the harsh world of Biomutant, the character has to stay in shape, there's no doubt about that.

Almost every form of activity boosts the character's XP, but there's a way to raise the physical stats throughout the game as well. By visiting former towns and old houses, players will find old, abandoned, but still functional gym equipment. This is another scavenger hunt-like mini-game series sprinkled throughout the map. In addition to being super fun, it also helps raise stats.

6 Stronkboxes - Find The Stronkboxes

Biomutant Stronkbox

This is arguably the most interesting side quest in terms of figuring out the backstory of Biomutant's world. This optional quest will unearth old gadgets, gizmos, trinkets, relics, and all sorts of mysteries that the player has to solve and figure out.

Piecing together the backstory of the game is the most intriguing part of Biomutant for a huge part of the fan base. Finding and solving the five Stronkboxes spread throughout the map is a huge key to finding out what happened that resulted in this alternate universe.

5 Klick - Talk To Klick

Biomutant Klonkfist

This is not just a very important quest; it's interesting as well. Klick is a character in Biomutant, and will help the player with a lot of things. First of all, Klick will help with the Klonkfist that players are dragging around the map, rewarding them with a level 2 Klonkfist after completing the quest.

Klick also helps unlock some secrets from the back-then. If the player is willing to dig around graves, he might reward the character with a Skeleton Key that can unlock any lock in the player's way.

4 Visit Someone - Side Characters

Fantasy open-world games are full of alien plants, creatures, and mysteries. So throughout the gameplay, and main quests, players shouldn't dismiss name-dropping. Some characters will mention people worth visiting, and if they do, players should listen.

Some of these characters will reward the player with some new gear. Others may have an amazing story, and some are just weird and quirky. Whatever the case, it's always a good idea to follow up on these little hints and check out what more there is to discover in this game.

3 Automaton Noticeboards - Read Noticeboards

Biomutant Noticeboard

Automaton Noticeboards are the next best thing to help players in the journey of finding out what happened to this world. It's easy to speculate a reason for the state of this universe by visiting some Hollywood cliches, like warfare, over-industrialization, and so on. But to truly solve this problem, players must look to Automation Noticeboards.

Automaton Noticeboards give players hints from the Old World. Finding any, if not all, can be the key to the entire game. This quest is perfect for those who play mainly for the depths of the story, and would love to unravel the background of this universe.

2 Follow The Trail - Old World Structures & Passages

Biomutant - Old Structures / City

This is the quest for all vagabonds out there who'd love to explore the world of Biomutant. The game's huge map is filled with intricate details, and most parts are completely accessible from the beginning of the game. The number one lure of the game is its rich natural aspect, but other than that, players – if they walk with their eyes open – will find some fascinating old structures.

The character will come across entire towns, lonesome buildings, or passages throughout the game. Exploring them can send the player down a trail of mysteries to be solved and monsters to be slain. This path is also rich in puzzles, treasures, and all sorts of exciting little Easter eggs.

1 Old World Quests - Gadgets & Bunkers

Biomutant Three Headed Monster

While playing, people will find a lot of different items and gadgets, which can help place the gameplay into a timeline if the player is attentive. Finding a gadget or an item often comes with a puzzle to be solved, and a lot of them carry treasures or other rewards that can be gathered. This little scavenger hunt is equal parts useful and entertaining.

There are also sealed bunkers, storages, and vaults hidden throughout the world. Finding them can be the best investment of a player's time in this game. Once a player finds out that there are hidden vaults to be found, it can become addictive very fast. Still, players should be careful when trying to find these treasures, as most of them are guarded by terrifying beasts.
