There are many guides to surviving zombie apocalypses through a variety of mediums— television shows, movies, and books— but what about an alien invasion? Game ZXC asked the star of Apple TV's Invasion, Billy Barratt, for his expertise on the topic. Created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil, Invasion pieces together multiple perspectives around the Earth as they battle a deadly alien invasion. The series features the well-renowned actors Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp), Sam Neill (Peaky Blinders), and Azhy Robertson (Marriage Story) in its large ensemble cast.

In Invasion, Barratt plays Casper Morrow, an English schoolboy who suffers from epilepsy. Casper carries the heart of the series as he finds himself the target of incessant bullying and the carrier of the communication channel used by the aliens that are terrorizing the world. With season two of this science-fiction show already on the horizon, it's only fair that we tested Barratt's smarts and skills when it comes to alien invasions.

Turns out, Barratt has it all planned out. "I've thought about this quite a lot. I have this chat with my dad all the time," Barratt shared in a conversation with Game ZXC. The 14-year-old actor went on to break down his five-star survival plan in case of an alien invasion, everything from gathering essentials to where he'd shelter. Here's Billy Barratt's guide to surviving an alien invasion.

Step 1: Get The Essentials

Barratt's first step to surviving an alien invasion is to grab all of the essentials. He said, "First thing I would do [is] grab everything that was important, like food and water. I'd put anything that was in bags or whatever and put it somewhere safe." Next, he'd get ahold of a double-decker bus and "fill up all the petrol." It doesn't stop there, he has everything thought out: "We'll get more petrol canisters, so we don't have to start stealing people's."

That isn't the only essential. As everybody knows, one is likely to be more vulnerable when alone. He added that he'd urgently pick up all of his "good friends" and bring them along.

Step 2: Head To The Countryside

The second big step in Barratt's plan would be to head to the countryside. For one crucial reason: to avoid people. He went on to say that this choice was inspired by zombie apocalypses. Barratt shared, "So, I'd get everyone on there [the bus] and get everything that I can. Then, we'd head to the countryside— because that's where not many people are. If there's a zombie apocalypse it would be like that to get away from the people. But I feel like I'd still do that anyway."

He continued, "I'll go countryside. And I'd get sharp things. Big sharp things. And I'd stick them on the bus [exterior]. So that when we're driving, we'll just run into things. Like, if there's an alien there, we'll run into it."

Step 3: Gear Up

Last on Barratt's alien invasion survival guide is to obtain as many weapons as possible. However, he specified that the process would be much different in England than in other countries. He said, "There are not many places to find guns in England. I'd find a police station, right? And I'd search it." The actor continued, "I'd go to wherever they have guns and stuff, and then I'd get loads of that. I'll go Tescos and just get loads of stuff. Grab everything I can. Then I'd go back [to the countryside] and we'll just settle down with loads of ammunition, loads of guns, everything."

Seems like Barratt has it all planned out, unlike his character Casper whose fate remains unknown in the Invasion storyline. In the final two episodes, the selfless schoolboy began to suspect that aliens were using his unconscious state to communicate with one another. Through a sacrificial act, Casper allows a doctor to induce a seizure so that he can attempt to end the invasion. However, things don't bode well for the young boy and he gets a rather cryptic ending.

Invasion is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
