Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition comes with a lot of new features, such as improved audio and video elements, but it also has all the same challenges from the original. One of the most daunting gauntlets is behind a door in the Pedestrian District that requires the Triangular Keycard.

This gauntlet has many different parts that players will need to be aware of and can each take numerous attempts before getting to the end. For all this hard work, players will be rewarded with some pearls as well as some cosmetic items. Before starting this perilous journey, you will need 2700 credits to get these cosmetics, but you will create a shortcut to return once you clear all the obstacles that lay beyond the Triangular Door.

8 Games To Play If You Miss Beyond Good & Evil

Beyond Good & Evil is an action-adventure by Ubisoft, and there are several games that are similar for fans to try.

Laser Grid Puzzle

Once you have completed the Factory portion of the game, you will have both the Triangular Keycard, and the Square Keycard. Go to the Pedestrian District and head over to the Akuda bar. Opposite the entrance to the bar will be a door that requires the Triangular Keycard to enter.

You will see some blue lasers blocked by a crate. Push the crate towards the opposite side of the entrance of the room. You will not be able to push it all the way, but you are able to push it far enough that you can just get through the hole in the wall when you crouch. Head opposite the three blue lasers, and crouch under the single laser on the other side. Players will now take on a series of laser challenges that behave differently. Here is a step-by-step guide to overcoming them all:

  • Hang from the ladder and wait for the lasers to disappear. Drop down and go hang from the next ladder.
  • Wait until both lasers meet in the top left corner. Drop down and run right to find the next ladder to hang from.
  • Drop down and you will see two spinning red lasers. You will need to crouch to move under the blue lasers, and stop behind one of the available covers to avoid being hit by the red lasers. The red lasers are not on opposite sides, so you will always want to make it to the next cover when you have a longer window of movement. Drop from the next ladder.
  • Do not try to jump onto any platforms here. Instead, press up against the wall and move towards the red lasers to shimmy over some pipes. Stop just before any red lasers, let them disappear, then move on to the next one. Drop from the ladder.
  • Wait until the first red laser you see disappears and then start shimming towards it. This will cause another laser to appear and give chase. Stop by any lasers you see, wait for them to disappear, then continue on. If you started the moment the first laser disappeared, you will be able to make it to the other side without taking any damage.
  • You will now have a series of bridges with red lasers that move along them. Simply jump down when safe and dodge roll over any red lasers as you make your way down these bridges.

You will drop down to the top of some glass, follow the path of blue lasers while avoiding contact with them. Until you get to a corner with two patrolling guards.

Ubisoft Games Almost No One Remembers

These Ubisoft titles never got a fair shot in the spotlight for one reason or another, but are they really worth going back to?

Two Patrolling Guards

If either of these guards notices you, it's an instant death situation. Players may attempt this part over and over, wondering if they are doing something wrong. Start by waiting for a guard to turn the corner away from Jade. Now head over to the provided cover and wait for the next guard to make the same turn, then follow behind them while crouching. Do not follow too close and risk touching them, as this will trigger the alarm and get Jade killed — as will kicking the guard.

Each laser wall will disappear as the guard makes their way past it. Always try to stay on the back left of the guard, so you are clear of the laser wall once it reactivates. Make your way through the first three laser walls and you will see a ladder. You will need to stop crouching to use the ladder, then climb your way into the vent above. It might take a couple of tries to get the timing right — the key is that the patrollers don’t have time to see you.

Make your way through the vent towards a fan; there are rats up here, so kick when prompted to attack. There will be two openings on the right side of the vent. Go to the far end where the fan is, and you will see a window that is broken. Use your camera to look through this broken window, and you will see a hand panel you can interact with. Throw a Gyrodisk at it to disable half of the lasers. Go to the other opening and do the same to disable the rest of the lasers. Drop from this opening and claim your three pearls.

Beyond Good And Evil 2 & 9 Other Games We're Still Waiting To Hear More From

We don't know why Ubisoft is playing coy with Beyond Good & Evil 2, but it's far from the only vaporware game we're hoping to hear more from soon.

Guards At The Elevator

Follow the path past the pearls to find a door that requires a square keycard. Open this door and wait for the patrolling guard to turn his back to Jade. Tailing behind enemies is a great mechanic used by some of the best stealth games, so it makes sense for this to be implemented a lot in Beyond Good and Evil Follow behind him while crouching to go under all the blue lasers. Kicking this guard will not sound the alarm, so it is recommended to do so to make things go smoother — kicking enough guards will also net you an easy trophy. Kick him when it is safe to do so, then again to finish him off.

You will find a hand panel next to one of the blue lasers. This will open a door for a short while. If you do not know where the door is, press the panel and then look to your left to see where the door it opens is located. Now that you know its location, press the hand panel again to reset the mechanism, and crouch under the blue laser next to the hand panel. The moment you clear it, sprint to the next blue laser before the door. Crouch under this second laser and then immediately sprint towards the door.

This will take you to an elevator that will have guard stations on various floors around it. Another stealth mechanic that has been added to the game is the ability to stay hidden behind cover, such as using the crates on the elevator ahead. You will need to crouch behind the two crates from various angles. The order in which guards appear is Right, Left, Right, Right, Forward, Right. Crouch as you approach the elevator and use the first crate for cover. Once clear of the first guard, head straight and use the second crate to hide from the guard on the left. Head to the same position as the first guard to avoid the third guard. Once clear, use the second crate to hide from the fourth guard on the right. Once the fourth guard is clear, use the second crate to hide from the guard that will be coming onto the elevator from the center.

It is worth noting that you are fast enough to make it to the opposite side of the elevator between the fourth and fifth guards if you are looking to challenge yourself. Use the second crate to hide from the final guard on the right side. As the guard starts to walk forward, kick him, and then kick him again to finish him off. You will find an open vent you can climb to using a crate. Make your way to the other end, and you will be able to spend 2700 credits to get some customization options for Double H. Use the hand panel in the room to disable the red lasers and make a shortcut back outside to the Pedestrian District.
