One of the best Xbox Game Pass titles from 2022 has just received a major new feature, as A Plague Tale: Requiem adds a 60 FPS performance mode to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. Xbox Game Pass users get access to a variety of games every month, with Microsoft also adding some third-party titles as day one release.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was added to the Xbox Game Pass library as a day one game in October 2022, and it was one of the best third-party games to join the service last year. A Plague Tale: Requiem received positive reviews upon its release, as its Xbox Series X version has a score of 85 on Metacritic. Unfortunately, A Plague Tale: Requiem did not feature a 60 FPS performance mode on consoles, but the development team has now released a new update that adds this feature.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was previously capped at 30 FPS on consoles, although users with a 120Hz display had the option to play it at 40 FPS. The update will now give console gamers the option to play A Plague Tale: Requiem at 60 FPS, allowing them to experience smoother gameplay in one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass. Fans should note performance mode will lower the graphical settings to achieve 60 FPS gameplay, but they can also choose to play in resolution mode for better visuals.

The new update also comes with improvements for the PC version of A Plague Tale: Requiem, as users will now have access to more graphical options that can help them better optimize its performance. Finally, this patch fixes some bugs in A Plague Tale: Requiem on all platforms, including Xbox Series S, which doesn't seem to be getting the 60 FPS performance mode. The update is now live on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it launches next week for the cloud version on Nintendo Switch.

Most new games on PS5 and Xbox Series X give users a choice between quality and performance modes, with some titles even offering support for 120 FPS gameplay. A Plague Tale: Requiem was one of the few titles to not offer it at launch, so this update may convince some users to try out the game. Some other titles like Gotham Knights and Redfall also do not come with a performance mode on consoles, although Redfall is said to add support for 60 FPS at a later date via an update.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
