In Solo Leveling: Arise, there are a variety of characters wielding different types of weapons and elements. Every hunter can manipulate one type of element, and primarily deals a specific kind of elemental damage. These elements play an important role achieving victory, as certain enemies are stronger or weaker against certain elements. There are five elements in the game: Fire, Water, Wind, Dark, and Light. Among the elements, Wind type characters are the most agile. They excel at quick attacks and fast movements, making them harder to target.

Having at least one character from each element type is important when going into dungeons where elemental weakness plays a big role in winning or losing. When players are looking for a Wind-type character in their party, here's what to know before entering the battlefield.

5 Kim Sangshik

Kim Sangshik
  • Class: Tank
  • Scaling: Defense

Kim Sangshik’s scale of defense provides him with average damage tanking ability. AS a Wind type, Kim Sangshik can uproot enemies with Knockdown and Airborne effects. His basic skills have a Break effect on them, allowing him to shred enemy defenses.

Being an SR Tank, Kim Sangshik is not a good pick. Players should avoid trying to build him, since resources are scarce and one can only build a few players at a time. His skills do not deal impressive damage, nor do they provide any kind of support to the team. His passive is not much help, since it only decreases the cooldown on his basic skills by 1 second and charges the Core Gauge. Players should only build Kim if they lack another Wind-type character.

4 Park Beom-Shik

Requires Heavy Investment Just To Make Him Subpar

  • Class: Fighter
  • Scaling: Defense

Park Beom-Shik is an SR Fighter in Solo Leveling: Arise whose damage scales with his defense. Dealing Wind damage, Park is a decent character. While he can uproot enemies with Knock Down and Airborne effects, the ability is not that impressive. Other characters can do the same and perform better than Park.

Wuthering Waves vs Genshin Impact: Similarities and Differences

Wuthering Waves and Genshin Impact are two different games that have similar mechanics. Here's a better way of understanding this new franchise.

Park's passive increases his defense by 4% for 30 seconds, and this increase can be stacked up to 10 times. When he is in danger, Park can also activate his one-time ability. This allows him to spam his basic attack, Spinning Attack, for a short time with increased attack speed and defense.

Park Beom-Shik possesses decent range on his skills, and can do some decent damage when low on HP. However, it requires a lot of investment to make him into a usable character. With that in mind, it might not be the best decision to spend hefty resources on a SR character just to make him viable. Despite being somewhat of a bad pick, Park is still worth considering if players lack a wind type character to clear wind content in the game. And of course, some players just adore the hardworking, chubby, middle-aged man who would do anything for his family.

3 Woo Jinchul

Weakest SSR, But Dashing Is Easier

Woo Jinchul
  • Class: Tank
  • Scaling: Defense

The Korean A-rank hunter from the manhwa and the Chief inspector of the Hunter Association’s Surveillance Team, Woo Jinchul is an SSR rank character in Solo Leveling: Arise. For being a tank, Jinchul is extremely agile. His entire skillset revolves around providing him with agility, making him the fastest tank in the game. His basic skill grants him an extra dash, and his support skill gives him two extra dashes. Together, these allow him to move freely on the battlefield. His passive increases his skill damage whenever he uses his dash.

Woo Jinchul is a good choice for players who struggle to dodge enemy attacks. He might not have the best damage output when compared to other SSR characters in the game, but his gameplay is more fun and forgiving makes up for it. Players looking for a fun time should check him out, because nobody likes to get knocked down by enemies every few seconds.

2 Park Heejin

Ultimate Wind Support

  • Class: Mage
  • Scaling: Attack

Park Heejin is one of the best supports in the game, and is viable in any team composition thanks to her extreme utility. Scaling with the Attack stat, Park Heejin boasts some impressive damage multipliers on her skills. She also has some AoE attacks in her roster, which further adds to her usability on the battlefield.

Park Heejin especially shines as a support character. Her support skill fills the team member’s power gauge by 15%, and increases ultimate skill damage by 15% for 20 seconds. She can also remove debuffs from team members, boosting the team’s damage and their chances of winning. Her passive recovers the power gauge for ultimate attack, and decreases the cooldown for her ultimate skill, allowing her to use it faster. Park Heejin, despite being a SR unit, is on par with SSR supports. Players missing a support or a wind type character should check her out for any team build.

1 Hwang Dongsoo

A Battle-Hungry Beast

  • Class: Fighter
  • Scaling: Defense

The burly villain from the manhwa, Hwang Dongsoo, is an SSR fighter and currently the best Wind Character in the game. Hwang Dongsoo is blessed with abilities that can take down bosses and hordes of enemies. Each of Hwang's skills packs a massive punch. He also has an interesting ability to remove shields from enemies, which can be useful against enemies who keep on buffing themselves.

The best Specialist Operators in Arknights are essential to keeping the player the victor, and here's who should be on the winning team.

Hwang Dongsoo’s Ultimate skill is extremely powerful, and has one of the highest damage multipliers on any ultimate skill in the game. He can also knock down enemies consistently thanks to Airborne and Knock Down effects. He can Stun enemies for 4 seconds, which is one of the longest stun durations on any skill in the game.

Hwang Dongsoo's powers don't stop here. His passive ability allows him to create a shield and increase his defense, all while doubling the damage of his basic skill, Urge to Kill, and resetting the cooldown for it. This passive, along with other offensive skillss makes Hwang Dongsoo an excellent wind character. Players who have an empty slot for a wind type in their team should consider him for the role.
