In Torchlight: Infinite, many things are there to help players fight and engage with the world in different ways. Like many free games on Epic, Torchlight: Infinite is a fully fleshed-out experience and has a forgiving learning curve. This way, many different types of players can enjoy this isometric dungeon crawler. Torchlight: Infinite encourages players to be creative. When players put it all together, they can create builds with several components that make up their load-outs.

The builds in this game do matter, making Torchlight: Infinite one of the most immersive RPGs of 2022. Not all armor pieces will impact gameplay drastically. The weapons do most of the work in any given build, and in some cases, players need to build around them. The two-handed weapons are especially important. While not as fast, they're very strong and can help players take down large enemies.

5 Shadow Of Thunderlight's Touch (Bow)

One reason why the Torchlight series has players draw comparisons with Diablo, is that both require players to experiment and find their play style. The ranged build in Torchlight: Infinite does just that. While it's not as powerful at the start, and can be a glass cannon, these builds give players a more versatile way of playing. Many of this bow's stats and attributes are based on its shock damage. First, half of the player's attacks with this bow get converted to lighting. While lightning won't do a lot of damage, it does have a chance to shock and stun enemies. Then, the rest of the team can put in the rest of the damage if they need to.

This bow is great for combos with not just the holder of this weapon, but the rest of the team. Shadow Of Thunderlight's Touch gives players a 50% chance to start a Combo Lighting attack, so enemies will take more damage from thunder and lightning attacks. On top of that, since it's a projectile weapon, those attack chain up to 3 times. This can create the needed breathing room for any run.

4 Frozen River (Musket)

Another great weapon for ranged builds, this musket has icy effects that not only last a while, but also stack. And it helps keep players safe especially if they are playing a ranged build like Divineshot Carino, because most of his base stats make him a glass cannon. This can make gameplay a lot harder; however, paired with a good team and with the Frozen River cannon, things can go in the favor of the player.

Frozen River protects players from getting Frostbitten. On top of that, it can trigger Frostbite on enemies. So when they're frozen, Frozen River's Cold Piercing attack has increased to around 12 -16%. Not only do the enemies stop moving, but they are now easier to take down. The best part when the enemies freeze, the cannon does around 20% more damage while doing AOE damage as well. This is very helpful when facing hordes of enemies.

3 Cursed Flame (Two-Handed Sword)

If a player's teammate has ice-based attacks, they can use this two-handed sword to complement those attacks. As the name implies, all Cursed Flames attacks give fire damage, which is important because it lasts. And the longer it lasts, the more easily enemies go down. Cursed Flame gives a 25% chance for the enemy to get Ignited. While they're on fire, the enemy takes even more damage, with an impressive 20% maximum increase.

This is more important for the end game, because the team can attack in a more efficient way. Additionally, if the player burns an enemy with that Ignite effect, any enemy near them gets hit by that fire, and takes a 10% damage increase. With this sword, players can control the fight when the enemies are on fire.

2 Endless Cycle (Axe)

This axe is great for many reasons. It allows players to be versatile, it adds a boost to the physical damage to the build, and it just helps players become way more adaptable in Torchlight: Infinite. However, if players have a melee or close-combat build, weapons like Endless Cycle work best. Because those builds are built around having high armor, they're the ones jumping into the fight first most often. So if players use this axe with those builds, they may see things get easier in the long run.

The reason for this is that adds 40 to 50% of physical damage. If players don't have anything with those stats, the boost won't make much of a difference. On top of that, if players are consistently fighting, they get about a 60% chance to hit a critical attack, and when adding in the damage boost, that makes players fight harder. Plus, as players fight with this axe, their health will regenerate a tiny amount. Still, that won't matter as much as long as they create builds that can take on a lot of damage.

1 Frosty Soul

Two-handed weapons are pretty easy to use, but players may opt for the one-handed ones due to their speed and easier play styles. That's not an issue, because great RPGs allow that versatility. InTorchlight: Infinite, one-handed weapons provide a lot of flexibility. So do the two-handed ones, but with the trade-off between speed and damage.

The Frosty Soul is a great two-handed sword. It has great physical damage, and gives damage boosts to the player's base attacks. However, the effects of this sword play a bigger role. If the enemy is frozen, which the Frosty Soul can do as long as players hit consistently, the attack goes up by about 20 to 30 points. The best part is that they can this attack with other players who share ice-type builds. This will stop enemies in their tracks, and help the team get control of the battle.

Torchlight: Infinite is available now on PC and Mobile.
