Tales of Arise is the latest entry in Bandai Namco's Tales series of action JRPGs. This entry focuses on the amnesiac Alphen (aka the Iron Mask), Shionne, Rinwell, Law, Kisara, and Dohalim — as well as Hootle of course. The plot follows this crew as they attempt to free the people of Dahna from Rena, the world that enslaves them.

As good as Tales of Arise might be, there is always room for improvement, and that's where the modding community comes in. Almost every video game has at least some measure of a modding community, and Tales of Arise is no different. All the following mods can be found on Nexus Mods.

6 Arise SDK Is The Foundational Mod For Many Other Additional Mods

The Arise SDK mod, made by users emoose and stoker25, is the kind of foundational mod that many other video games have. It gives players access to the developer console and engine internals. This allows other modders to use the SDK to tweak the game on their own.

In addition to that, the Arise SDK mod also makes some improvements to the game on its own. These include the render and refresh rate on the cut scenes, and increasing the draw distance on non-player characters.

5 Full Texture Replacement Tool Allows Gamers To Play With Aesthetics

This is another mod that can function as something of a foundational modding tool, which players can use to customize the game on their own. The Full Texture Replacement Tool by Tenshiken1 allows players to edit face and default body textures.

This allows players to make surface-level changes to their characters that can liven up the game, or at least do more to appeal to the player's personal aesthetic. This is also a mod that other modders on Nexus use to create their costumes, so it is essential to download the Full Texture Replacement Tool to activate those other mods.

4 Tweaks Of Arise Improves Cutscene & Difficulty Quality

Tweaks of Arise by gladias9 makes several relatively minor changes to improve the overall visual and mechanical quality of Tales of Arise. This is a fairly common mod concept across several video games, as no game is innately perfect. There is always room to improve.

Tweaks of Arise improves the FOV (field of view) in cutscenes and gameplay by pushing the player camera back a few paces. It also reworks the difficulty setting and increases the player character's movement speed. They might seem like small changes, but they can have a big impact

3 Shionne Zero Suit Samus Cosplay Alternative Colors

Many mods in the Tales of Arise community focus on the aesthetics and costuming of the characters in the game. Among these mods are costumes from characters in franchises other than the Tales series. The Shionne Zero Suit Samus Cosplay Alternative Colors mod by snipe12 gives Shionne Vymer Imeris Daymore the iconic Zero Suit costume of Samus Aran from Nintendo's Metroid franchise.

In addition to the iconic costume itself, the mod allows for ten different color options for the Zero Suit costum. This is done in a fashion similar to the palette swaps that can be done with Super Smash Bros. characters. In this way, the mod adds even more customization options for Shionne and allows the player to tinker with the color palette for their entire party.

2 Izuku Midoriya's Outfit For Law Adds MHA Into The Mix

My Hero Academia Izuku Midoriya

This is another alternate costume mod, specifically made for the character Law. It adds the hero uniform of Izuku Midorya, the protagonist of the anime My Hero Academia, to Law's fashion repertoire. Specifically, it replaces the Law's Bureau Uniform with Deku's hero outfit. Furthermore, it aims to recreate his upgraded gloves and boots that he obtains later on in the series to help compensate for his One-for-All powers.

The Izuku Midoriya's Outfit for Law mod comes from Nexus Mod users MrHeathcliff5 and snipe12. In screenshots for this mod that can be found in the link, MrHeathcliff5 uses the Invisible Gauntlets mod by Notrustk and Alfyn to better show off Midoriya's costume in the game.

1 Multiple Mods Inject Breath Of The Wild Into Tales Of Arise

Link costume mod Tales of Arise Cropped

This is another standout costume on offer for Tales of Arise. The Link & Urbosa Costumes For Alphen And Kisara mod takes its inspiration from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and gives alternate costumes for Alphen and Kisara. Alphen gets the costume that Link wore to go undercover in the Gerudo Village, and Kisara is given Urbosa's default costume in Breath of the Wild. For Alphen, his Shoreman's Straw Hat, Ocean Blue Battle Garb, and Crude Sword are replaced. For Kisara, her Bygone Ponytail (which is from a DLC), Decoy Guardsman Armor, and Feathered Shield are replaced.

Also perfect for Zelda fans is an additional mod that introduces the Master Sword from Breath of the Wild as a replacement for Alphen's Crude Sword. Both of these mods come from Nexus Mod user Jujub.
