The Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime series portrays the life of a 34-year-old Japanese NEET (not in education, employment, or training) who dies in a traffic accident. Luckily, he is given a new chance at life as he is reincarnated into a fantasy world, retaining the memory of his previous life. With his knowledge of his last life intact, Rudeus displays extraordinary magic abilities and strives to make the best use of his new life with his friends and family by his side.
With its wide range of characters, Mushoku Tensei has distinguished itself among various isekai anime series. Despite the enigmatic and intriguing main characters, the supporting characters have at times displayed fortitude and ability that allow them to take center stage.
7 Paul
Rudeus’ father, Paul Greyrat, is a man talented in the way of the sword. At an early age, Paul mastered all three sword styles and could freely interchange them when using them. Paul's teammates frequently describe him as rude and thug-like, despite him coming from a high-ranking noble family.
After becoming an adventurer, Paul formed a party called the Fangs of the Black Wolf and eventually married one of his party members, Zenith, with whom he conceived Rudeus. As a supporting character, Paul is quite relatable to fans and strives to do the best for his family despite his inadequacies.
6 Orsted
Orsted, the current Dragon God, is the strongest member of his tribe. As the sworn enemy of Hitogami, Orsted nearly killed Rudeus when he discovered Rudeus had some sort of relationship with the Human God. While Orsted’s true nature is kind and patient, the curses on him make all living beings who see his face fear and hate him.
Dragon God Orsted has made only a single appearance in the Mushoku Tensei anime so far. However, even with that, he has left quite an impression on fans. With sheer power, Orsted has engraved his name in the minds of Rudeus, Eris, Ruijerd, and fans alike. And fans cannot wait to see how he will contribute to the anime series in the upcoming season(s).
5 Ghislaine
As one of the few sword kings in Mushoku Tensei, Ghislaine Dedoldia has made a name for herself. She is a talented swordsman from the beast race and served under the Sword God, Gal Farion. When it comes to swordsmanship skills, Ghislaine ranks among the top in Mushoku Tensei. However, when it comes to more intricate things like magic and writing, Ghislaine is quite terrible at them and learned under Rudeus alongside Eris.
As a supporting character, Ghislaine has made a lot of impact on Rudeus and Eris’ lives. As their mentor in the ways of the sword, Ghislaine has proven herself a great supporting character on multiple occasions.
4 Hitogami
The self-proclaimed Human God frequents Rudeus’ dreams, giving him helpful advice. While Rudeus does not fully trust Hitogami, he has been helpful to him. Through Hitogami’s advice, Rudeus was able to save his sister and meet Demon Lord Kishirika Kishirisu, who gave him demon eyes.
With a blank white appearance, Hitogami appears friendly and casual to those he appears to. However, fans of the Mushoku Tensei manga and light novels know better than to trust the Human God. While fans of the anime continue to observe the supporting human God character, a surprise awaits.
3 Roxy
The talented Roxy Migurdia became skilled at magic early in life and went on to tutor many others. Her tutoring led her to meet Rudeus, whom she tutored in magic from a young age. Roxy is from the Migurd tribe; however, due to her being unable to use telepathy like the rest of her people, Roxy felt isolated and left the village.
As a supporting character, Roxy is calm and collected. She is very intelligent and always seeks to improve herself, using Rudeus’ magic prowess to further motivate herself. Although Roxy can be a bit clumsy, fans love her for her contributions to the series.
2 Aisha
Rudeus’ younger half-sister Aisha is smart and witty. With her maroon hair, Aisha takes after her mother, Lilia. Before meeting her brother, Aisha was wary of him and held little respect for him. However, after meeting him, she came to respect her older brother, who saved her and her mother from the hands of a prince who wanted to use them to lure Rudeus and Roxy.
Despite her young age, Aisha is cunning and witty. She is more mature than most people her age, and often manipulates others. Aisha is good at thinking on her feet and has brought a lot of smiles to fans of Mushoku Tensei.
1 Ruijerd
Ruijerd Superdia is a warrior with a strict honor code. He does not tolerate even minor crimes, and goes to incredible lengths to fulfill his promises to others. When Rudeus and Eris got teleported to the demon continent during the teleport incident, Ruijerd looked upon them as children and promised to get them back home. Although his scary demeanor kept Rudeus and Eris away at first, they eventually warmed up to the Superd.
As a member of the Superd demon race that faces discrimination from humans, Ruijerd’s character adds a layer of depth. Fans get to see Ruijerd and Rudeus navigate through discrimination and themes of acceptance as they try to navigate themselves back to Rudeus’ homeland.
