The Holiday season is fast approaching and that means it's time to try and find the perfect gift for the PS5 gamers out there in the world. 2021 was once again a challenging year in many ways, but the good news is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, there's been enough light at the end of that tunnel for the video game industry that it has been going quite strong over the past year. One positive side effect of that is that there are indeed plenty of gift options out there for PS5 users if they're wanting something to go along with their newest console. It may take some smart and early shopping, but good gifts are out there.

Of course, being a PS5 gamer in 2021 is no small feat. While the console has been a bit more readily available, they are still plenty hard to get and it appears the PlayStation 5 shortages are expected to last into next year. That means that being someone who needs something to go along with their new console is already a big win. Finding something that will compliment the PS5 is a bonus. That doesn't mean there's no reason to get the perfect gift. In fact, there might even be more incentive to find something that could be considered the perfect pairing.

The Best PS5 Games For 2021

Colt and Julianna

With 2021 technically being the second year the PS5 is out on the market, there are quite a few games out there that rank amongst the best in the video game industry. Certainly, there were a couple of really good games released in 2020, but this year brought quite the additional crop. There are also plenty of cross-platform games that are benefitting from being on the PS5 such as Hitman 3, and Resident Evil: Village as well as PlayStation 5 exclusives or timed exclusivesReturnal and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. For those playing it safe and buying a game that came out later in the year, Kena: Bridge of Spirits,Deathloop and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy certainly fit that bill.

PS5 Headphones

Sometimes, when someone is playing their PS5 games, they don't want to have to share them with the world. Maybe there's a late-night or early morning session and the gamer doesn't want to wake up the whole neighborhood when they're blasting aliens in Returnal or throwing one touchdown after another in Madden NFL 22. The Pulse 3D headset was released exclusively for the PS5 in order to compliments what the current generation of games can pull off. There's now also the Midnight Black 3D Pulse headphones version available just in time for the holiday season to really get rolling. Of course, if someone is looking for the best gaming headsets for the PS5 that aren't specifically made by Sony, then shoppers certainly can't go wrong with a headset like the SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ headphones (via SteelSeries' website).

DualSense PS5 Controllers

There's been quite a bit of talk about how much the DualSense controller compliments the PS5 thanks to its haptic feedback for several of the console's best games. Sometimes that means vibrating when a character is trying to sneak through an area to let the player know they've been spotted. Sometimes it means the trigger on the controller behaves similarly to the trigger of a gun. Yes, obviously one of these comes with the console but Sony has also helpfully released a set of DualSense controllers that come in several different colors to add some extra pizzaz to a set-up.

4K Monitors For The PS5

While some are playing their PlayStation 5 games on their television, there's an argument to be made that PS5 games on a gaming monitor simply look better. Not everybody can afford the kind of televisions that are needed when it comes to taking advantage of the advanced graphics of the current generation console. There's also the fact that sometimes a users' gaming setup may not be in the same room where everyone is watching television. Gaming monitors like the ViewSonic XG320U and ASUS PG32UQ are both HDMI 2.1 compatible, which is something to consider when looking for the best monitors.

SSDs For The PS5

samsung 980 ssd for ps5

It wasn't that long ago when Sony started allowing users to equip its PS5 with SSDs. These SSDs allow for players to have a little more storage space for their favorite game, which can especially come in handy if they get a load of brand new games for the holidays. While the PlayStation 5 has been out for basically a full year now, there are still very specific SSDs that allow for users to play their PS5 games directly off the external drives.

The WD_Black SN850, Samsung 980 Pro, and the Seagate FireCuda 530 are three of the best out there that also have a range of prices, depending on just how much extra storage they can offer. It should come as no surprise that when gamers start climbing the ladder as far as storage is offered, the price goes up quickly as well. The 500GB SSDs are fairly moderately priced for this market, but because of their general price, it should be noted these are great presents thanks to the space boost. Check out the Seagate FireCuda 530 here.
