When it comes to big-budget console exclusives, PlayStation owners really are spoiled for choice. Thanks to Sony's impressive and ever-growing collection of first-party development studios, the company's systems have been treated to some of the very best narrative-driven single-player experiences of all time, with more being released all the time.
Easy PlayStation Games That Have Absurdly Difficult Platinum Trophies
Despite the games themselves being easy, acquiring their Platinum Trophies is way too difficult.
However, with so many great games to choose from, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Given how common review-bombing is these days, User Scores aren't particularly helpful, and critic reviews aren't all that much better depending on who one asks. With this in mind, some may choose to measure a game's quality by the percentage of players who go on to complete it, as indicated by Trophy data.
In instances where a game was later re-released, data from the original version will be used. However, in the event that a game was released simultaneously across both the PS4 and the PS5, this list will only consider data from the PS5 version.
Updated November 19, 2023, by Tom Bowen: First-party exclusives have played an important role in the success of Sony's PlayStation line of consoles, more so in recent years. The PS4 and PS5 are home to some of the best PlayStation exclusives of all time, most of which have sold tens of millions of copies. However, some will perhaps argue that a game is only as good as its completion rate, which seems a fair point really given how long it can take to complete most modern video games. Sony once again leads the way in this department though, with most of its games scoring well above average when it comes to the percentage of players who hang around until the end credits.
14 Horizon Forbidden West
Completion Percentage: 30.4% (Discovered Nemesis)
With Elden Ring released just one week later, to say that the launch of Horizon Forbidden West was a little overshadowed would perhaps be a bit of an understatement. Even so, the game still sold well and was a hit with both critics and players alike. Trophy data suggests that just under a third of them unlocked the Discovered Nemesis Trophy, which isn't bad at all considering its main story takes around thirty hours to complete.

13 Horizon Zero Dawn
Completion Percentage: 32.2% (Ended the war machine threat)
Those who believe that Horizon Forbidden West was unlucky with its release window should spare a thought for its poor predecessor. Horizon Zero Dawn launched just three days before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which undoubtedly had a big impact on initial sales. It eventually found its audience though, as evidenced by the game's solid 32% completion rate, which is all the more impressive considering the game was given away for free as part of Sony's Play at Home initiative back in April of 2021.

12 Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Completion Percentage: 35.2% (Destiny's Crossroads)
Though not a first-party title, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a PlayStation exclusive, just as many of the previous Final Fantasy games have been since the series' seventh installment. Like many of the other great exclusives of the modern era, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was at one point given away for free to PS Plus members, making its completion rate all the more impressive. More than 35% of players have unlocked the Destiny's Crossroads Trophy on PS4, with a similar percentage having done so on PS5.

11 Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Completion Percentage: 37.7% (Charted! - Explorer)
8 Best Games Set In Africa
While most video games are set in familiar areas, these games branched out of the comfort zone by placing their location in Africa
Another big-budget PlayStation exclusive that was free for a while is Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Nathan Drake's final outing was one of the free monthly PS Plus games back in April of 2020, which helped to bring the total number of players up to an eye-watering 37 million. Just under 38% of those players unlocked the Charted! - Explorer Trophy, which works out to be around 14 million people. That's not counting those who completed the game on PC or PS5, either.

10 The Last of Us
Completion Percentage: 38.9% (No Matter What - Easy)
When it comes to first-party exclusives, they really don't come much bigger than The Last of Us. Having been released across three different console generations and adapted into a hit television series by HBO, few can question the excellence of this post-apocalyptic title. On paper, its 39% completion rate may seem a little on the low side, but given how many copies it's sold, that's still an awful lot of people who unlocked the No Matter What - Easy Trophy on their PS3s.
9 Ghost of Tsushima
Completion Percentage: 39.9% (Mono No Aware)
Its Metacritic rating may be a little on the low side when compared to some of the other great PlayStation exclusives, but Ghost of Tsushima is an incredible title nonetheless. 40% of players stuck around long enough to witness Jin Sakai's transformation into the titular character, unlocking the game's Mono No Aware Trophy in the process. Doing so required them to make an impossible choice, with Jin sacrificing far more than just his honor to save the island and its inhabitants from the Mongol invaders.
8 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Completion Percentage: 40.8% (2 Fuzz 2 Nefarious)
There have been plenty of great platforming duos over the years, from Banjo and Kazooie to Jak and Daxter. Few, if any, though, are as enduring as Ratchet & Clank, with the titular Lombax and robot having appeared in countless adventures over the years. Their debut outing for the PS5 came in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which proved to be a huge hit with both players and critics alike. A significant portion of those who picked it up ended up completing it, with around 42% of players unlocking the 2 Fuzz 2 Nefarious Trophy.

Completion Percentage: 45.7% (Ragnarök)
The 8 Best Characters In God of War Ragnarok, Ranked
The following characters stick out as the best in the newest God of War installment, Ragnarok. Here they are, ranked.
God of War Ragnarok had some pretty big shoes to fill, though, luckily, Kratos is a pretty big dude. Helped by an excellent cast of supporting characters, the Greek God was able to deliver a phenomenal sequel which many felt deserved to win the 2022 Game of the Year award. It may not have picked up the top prize, but it did win the hearts of many players; 45% of whom unlocked the Ragnarök Trophy by completing its main story.

6 Final Fantasy 16
Completion Percentage: 46.5% (Falling Star)
Some will perhaps argue that Final Fantasy 16 strays a little too far from the series' tried and tested formula, but that may not be such a bad thing even if true. Many consider it to be one of the best Final Fantasy games in years, and this line of thinking is backed up by the game's impressively high completion rate. More than 46% of players reached the conclusion of Clive's story, putting Final Fantasy 15's 34.3% to shame.

5 God of War
Completion Percentage: 47% (Last Wish)
The team over at Santa Monica Studio took a huge gamble when they decided to reboot its hugely popular God of War series, but boy did it pay off. Many regard God of War as the best game of the eighth console generation and both its Metacritic rating and user score would certainly back this up. Of the tens of millions of people who've played it, 47.2% have unlocked the Last Wish trophy, which is some achievement when one considers that it was part of the PS Plus collection for so long.

4 Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Completion Percentage: 48.3% (Ultimate Sacrifice)
Considering how many people initially thought that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was just an expansion of the original title rather than a brand-new game, it sold a surprising number of copies around the time of its launch. Sales have continued to improve since then, with millions of people having now played the game. More impressive, perhaps, is the fact that almost half of those people have completed the main story, with 48% of players unlocking the Ultimate Sacrifice Trophy.

3 Marvel’s Spider-Man
Completion Percentage: 49.3% (End Game)
If Miles Morales is impressive, then what exactly does that make Marvel’s Spider-Man? Having sold more than 33 million copies as of May 2022, it's one of the most successful first-party titles of all time, with very few third-party games able to come close to that amount, let alone beat it. What's more, just shy of 50% of players have unlocked the End Game trophy, which equates to more than 16 million people. With the game having since been added to PS Plus Extra and a sequel on the way, that number is only going to increase.

2 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Completion Percentage: 56.5% (Heal the World)
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 improves upon its predecessors in just about every conceivable way. The story is a lot more compelling this time around and its rendition of New York is even more gorgeous, thanks in large to the improved processing power of the PS5. It is a little shorter, with players able to get the platinum trophy in around 20 hours or so, but it's still a highly enjoyable title nonetheless.

1 The Last of Us Part II
Completion Percentage: 58% (What I Had to Do)
Despite being one of the most controversial and divisive first-party titles ever made, The Last of Us Part 2 boasts an incredibly impressive completion rate, with a massive 57.9% of players unlocking the What I Had to Do Trophy. This would suggest that the game's story wasn't quite as bad as its 5.8 User Score on Metacritic might imply, despite what happened in Jackson shocking a lot of players at the time.
