While it may be impossible to achieve true perfection in real life, in the world of anime, it's much more attainable. It's still rather rare to find a character that many fans deem as truly "perfect," as many anime characters are purposely flawed to achieve a level of reliability with viewers. However, every now and then, there are characters that are difficult to find fault in.

"Perfection" is a subjective term, but this list will include any characters that are exceptionally multi-talented, well-liked, morally just, enviable, or just plain allergic to failure of any kind. Here are some of the most perfect characters in the world of anime.

Updated February 7th, 2023, by Christine Mendoza: There are varying definitions of perfection, and at the end of the day, there are many ways a character can achieve it. Being "perfect" can mean wildly different things to each individual, whether it be valuing displays of intelligence, feats of strength, or acts of kindness. Depending on what one prioritizes, the definition of "perfection" can waver greatly. In order to account for different kinds of perfection, a few new entries (some fresh faces from new series and familiar faces from classic titles) have been added to account for any characters that may qualify for the title of truly perfect.

14 Deku (Izuku Midoriya) — My Hero Academia

deku using his one for all power ay 100 percent

The story of My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya and his journey to becoming a hero. What some fans tend to forget is that the story is being told retroactively, from an older Deku in the future, already sitting pretty as the Number One hero in the world.

Deku has it all, not only when it comes to being the perfect protagonist but also the perfect hero: a kind heart and unmatched power. At the moment, the anime's current version of Deku is still learning and definitely needs some time to adjust to his new-found power. However, the audience gets the privilege of knowing for a fact that at one point, Deku will not only have his heart of gold but also full and complete control of every single quirk inherited from every single One-For-All user.

In terms of both kindness and strength, there is just no hero that can compete with Izuku Midoriya.

13 Gojo Satoru — Jujutsu Kaisen

gojo satoru

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, there's not a single sorcerer that is willing to go toe to toe with special grade jujutsu sorcerer, Gojo Satoru. Gojo is the kind of guy that seems to have it all. On top of having loads of money, dashing good looks, and a few (or perhaps more than just a few) fangirls, he's also got immense strength.

Gojo may seem a bit arrogant at first, but it's difficult to fault him for talking big when he's perfectly capable of backing up any trash talk he dishes out. Gojo is the first sorcerer in the last few hundred years to have inherited both the Limitless technique as well as the rare ocular Six Eyes technique. These special jujutsu techniques are inherited from family and are often bound by bloodlines. It seems as if Gojo isn't just perfect but also lucky as well!

12 Light Yagami — Death Note

light yagami death note

It may seem a bit troublesome to refer to Light as a "perfect" character, but to all those around him, his life did seem to be just that. In the case of Death Note's Light Yagami, his version of perfection existed merely on the surface.

To others, all they saw when looking at Light Yagami was a straight-A student, a talented athlete, and a handsome ladies' man. If it weren't for the audience having access to behind-the-scenes and knowing about Light's merciless plans to take over the world as Kira, Light would simply pass for a model student; and, later, a dedicated detective. Perhaps if Light never came across the power of the Death Note in the first place, he would have eventually had a perfect life, not just on the surface.

11 Loid Forger — Spy x Family

Loid Forger in Spy X Family

Loid Forger, codenamed Twilight, is an undercover spy working for the Westalia Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division (also known as WISE) in the world of Spy x Family. In a mission to investigate politician Donovan Desmond, Twilight (real name unknown) has taken the alias of Loid Forger, the doting husband to Yor Forger and caring father to Anya Forger.

While not much about Loid's past is known, who he is in the present day could easily be seen as perfection. Loid is the best at what he does as a spy; he's strong, talented in hand-to-hand combat, an excellent marksman, and incredibly intelligent.

On top of his expertise as a spy, putting Loid's job aside, he also clearly has it in him to be a good father one day. Even though his life as Loid Forger is merely a ruse, it's clear that Loid still cares about Yor and Anya and wishes to protect them regardless of his job description.

10 Makima — Chainsaw Man

Makima

The elusive leader of the Devil Hunter Public Safety Organization seems to have everyone around her wrapped around her finger. Chainsaw Man's Makima seems to be the very definition of perfection. Aside from her entrancing beauty and mysterious yet charming personality, Makima is the kind of character that just can't ever be caught slipping up under pressure.

In just about any situation, Makima is never stressed, scared, or worried; she always seems to have everything under control at all times. When it comes to power, leadership, and capability, Makima is perfection. No human nor devil is strong enough to make the mysterious Makima break a sweat.

9 Korosensei — Assassination Classroom

Korosensei in Assassination Classroom

Korosensei may technically be Assassination Classroom's antagonist, but it's difficult for the other characters (as well as fans) to bring themselves to dislike him! When it comes be being an unkillable assassination target, Korosensei couldn't be any better at his job. While he may be Class 3-E's homeroom teacher, his job as the class' target is the series' main focus.

Korosensei may have a few natural weaknesses, but his superhuman levels of strength, speed, intellect, reflexes, and senses make him a force to be reckoned with. In addition to his skill, Korosensei has a warm, goofy personality that anyone would let their guard down around!

8 Anos Voldigoad — The Misfit Of Demon Academy

Misfit of Demon King Academy Best Magic Spells Resurrection Magic Eternal Death Behelius Anos Voldigoad Demon King of Tyranny

Anos Voldigoad is often described as an "anti-heroic protagonist," but that doesn't stop him from embodying perfection when it comes to power, magic, and skill. Many of the series' gags play off of Anos' overpowered abilities as the feared Demon King. It doesn't matter what kind of amazing abilities his opponents have up their sleeves; it always ends up with Anos not simply besting them but absolutely destroying them in battle.

Only the famous Anos Voldigoad could win a sword fight with a simple branch or use a low-level elemental spell to win against the most powerful sorcery. Aside from his perfect proficiency in magic and combat, his levels of brute strength are unmatched as well. When it comes to a fighter, no one in the world of The Misfit Of Demon Academy can come close to being as well-rounded as protagonist Anos Voldigoad himself.

7 Alphonse Elric — Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist Alphonse Elric

Older brother Edward may be the main protagonist of FMA, but Al is much closer to the idea of a "perfect" anime character. Al is incredibly talented in a plethora of different ways. Not only is he an expert alchemist, but he's also an amazing combatant due to his skill level, his invulnerability to extreme temperatures, inexhaustible stamina, invulnerability to bullets, and even more advantages that his suit of armor grants him.

Al isn't just perfect in the field of combat; he's also a perfect gentleman. He's one of the most selfless characters in the series, not to mention one of the most intelligent as well. Edward may be the more skilled alchemist, but in the end, it's Alphonse's well-rounded abilities and likeability that make him the true best boy of the series.

6 All Might — My Hero Academia

All Might in My Hero Academia

All Might, despite currently being retired, still remains the true symbol of peace for many citizens in the world of My Hero Academia. In his golden years, All Might was the epitome of the perfect hero, not only to the citizens within the anime but also to the fans of the show. All Might is a perfect hero: he's got power, a huge heart, and a kind personality as well. Even after citizens witnessed him in his "deflated" form after his incredible fight with All For One, the general public stayed on his side and still respected him for the hero he once was.

Even after passing the torch, the mighty Endeavor felt burdened to carry the weight of being the hope and light of the people. It speaks volumes about All Might's character that someone as powerful as Endeavor is still not warmly welcomed by the general public as a true symbol of peace.

5 Saitama — One Punch Man

Saitama from One Punch Man

The protagonist of One Punch Man seems almost burdened by his perfection. As the title of his anime implies, protagonist Saitama can defeat any monster or villain alike, all with a single punch. In the realm of heroes, Saitama is a perfect one. After his tough training regimen of a hundred sit-ups and push-ups every day, Saitama achieved the uncanny ability to win any fight he participates in with a single move.

On paper, Saitama may sound like the perfect hero, being undefeated by any evil forces; his only real downfall comes from boredom. Saitama's perfection is what takes away the thrill he once felt during a fight. Perhaps perfection has its negatives as well.

4 Miki Makimura — Devilman Crybaby

Devilman Crybaby Miki Makimura

Miki may not have any supernatural powers or superhuman abilities, but it's obvious to see she's perfect in many other ways. Miki is clearly the "it girl" of her school; she has it all. She is beautiful and popular, not just for her looks but also because of her talents and kind heart. Miki is very athletic and has even been recognized as the fastest runner on the track team. She is a model student and is one of the most sympathetic characters in the entire series.

Miki isn't just talented and beautiful; she's also caring, kind, and understanding (almost to a fault). It doesn't matter what situation she's in; Miki will always rise up to be the bigger person.

3 Yu Narukami — Persona 4: The Animation

Persona 4 THe Animation Yu Narukami

Yu Narukami may serve as a simple vessel in the Persona 4 video game, but in the anime, he's his own person altogether. Yu is a man of few words, yet he still manages to grab all the ladies' attention. He is athletic, a ladies' man, a calm and collected leader, a fairly talented cook, and a loyal friend.

RELATED: Persona: All The Hidden Details About Each Protagonist

Yu, being the protagonist in the game, has many paths to choose from, and in the anime, it seems as if Yu has successfully mastered every elective or hobby there is. Yu's role as the protagonist naturally entails his well-rounded abilities that end up making him perfect both in his academic and social life.

2 Daisuke Kambe — Balance: Unlimited

Balance Unlimited Daisuke Kambe

It seems Daisuke has it all: smarts, dashing good looks, an exciting job, a great partner, and all the money he could ever wish to spend. It's true that there's much more to life than monetary gain, but it certainly helps. In the realm of normal people living mundane lives, Daisuke leads a rather perfect one and definitely stands out from the crowd.

Daisuke isn't just a pretty face, however. He's also a very capable detective and rarely cracks under the pressure. Daisuke's otherwise heartless view of the value of human life is thankfully offset by his partner, Haru. Luckily, Daisuke has Haru by his side to keep him in check to maintain his unofficial title as "Mr. Perfect."

1 Sakamoto — Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto

Haven’t You Heard I’m Sakamoto anime Sakamoto sitting on window

Sakamoto is the epitome of perfection in the anime world. He's flawless, never fails, and is well-liked by (almost) his entire school. While his unfathomable levels of perfection may earn him some envious enemies around school, it's nothing that Sakamoto can't brush off. Even when forced into embarrassing situations, Sakamoto still manages to come out looking as cool as ever — quite effortlessly as well!

On top of being "prank-proof," Sakamoto has a wide range of strange talents and skills that he showcases from time to time. It seems Sakamoto can do no wrong, as even his absurd behavior is often praised by his classmates.

Bonus: Prince Ashitaka - Princess Mononoke

Ashitaka - Princess Mononoke Bowman

While the dashing Prince Ashitaka isn't from an anime series, he's from the amazing animated film Princess Mononoke by Studio Ghibli, and shouldn't be overlooked when discussing perfect anime characters. Prince Ashitaka is not only a devoted leader of his village, but he also has a kind heart underneath the cold demeanor he has most of the time. Ashitaka is very stern and strict and always fights with all his heart in order to protect those that he loves.

Ashitaka isn't just a skilled warrior, but he has a heart of gold, can see the good in everyone, only resorts to battle when absolutely necessary, and wishes for nothing but peace between humanity and nature.
