There are many notable new game releases coming in April 2024, but April 26 is a particularly concentrated day that will see the launch of multiple new games at once. For the most part, video game companies like to spread out their new releases. Less competition means that a game is more likely to succeed, after all. However, there are certain days that get a bunch of new releases at once, for whatever reason.

This happened just recently, on March 22. On that day, gamers had to choose between Capcom's critically-acclaimed Dragon's Dogma 2, the colorful Switch exclusive Princess Peach: Showtime, and the open world action-RPG Rise of the Ronin. Now that the dust has settled, all three of those games seem to have been sales successes, though Dragon's Dogma 2 came out as the highest-rated game of the three.

PS5 Exclusive Stellar Blade Will Be Missing a Popular Feature at Launch

The upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive action game Stellar Blade is going to be a missing a popular feature at launch.

It will be interesting which April 26 game comes out on top, with five notable titles all set to release on that day. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Sweep the Board, a party game based on the popular Demon Slayer anime series, will be released for the Nintendo Switch on April 26, alongside the medieval strategy game Manor Lords, which is coming to PC Game Pass on day one of its release. Those titles will be joined by action-RPG Sand Land, based on the Akira Toriyama franchise of the same name, the over-the-top action game Stellar Blade, and tennis game TopSpin 2K25.

Out of these, there are two that stand out as particularly noteworthy. Sand Land features a striking cel-shaded art style and unique vehicular exploration mechanics. Sand Land itself hasn't been given near the same amount of attention as Toriyama's Dragon Ball over the years, and so it's also exciting to see some of the legendary creator's other work get some much-deserved time in the spotlight.

Stellar Blade, meanwhile, has been incredibly impressive so far. The Stellar Blade demo has been met with a great deal of enthusiasm from fans, as many have come away impressed with the game's heart-pounding combat. Time will tell if the full product lives up to the hype, but fans will find out later this month.

Of course, that's not to discount the other three games that are releasing on April 26. All three of them could very well turn out to be incredible games in their own right. With a variety of games of different genres releasing that day, gamers should be sure to mark April 26 on their calendars.
