Temtem is a massively multiplayer online game that has recently emerged out of Early Access on Steam and has since been released on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Temtem is in a similar league to Pokémon, with the aim of the game being to catch and tame mythical creatures known as Temtem.
To become the greatest Temtem trainer of them all, players must first put together a well-rounded and robust team. Temtem has over 100 species of Temtem available to catch, so players can build their own squad from scratch. Some Temtem have synergies with other species, offering a unique gameplay style. Neutral-type Temtems are a cornerstone of the game and a must-have in any squad. Here are some of the best neutral-type Temtem and where to find them.
6 Tateru
Tateru is a neutral-type Temtem, resembling a somewhat tall hamster. Its shy and unintimidating personality is reflected in its abilities, like Tenderness. Tateru has the highest base stat total of all Temtem in the game and high STA stats. Tateru, despite its soft appearance, is quite a tough Temtem. One of its randomly-assigned unique Traits, Resilient, protects it from being knocked out from overexertion, leaving it with one HP and extra SPD.
Players can find Tateru reasonably early in the game as they leave the starting area of Deniz and journey up to the Prasine Coast and Thalassian Cliffs. Tateru can also be found at the Gifted Bridges, Windward Fort, and Aguamarina Cave.
5 Skunch

Skunch is a Neutral and Melee hybrid Temtem. It Skali evolutionary line and is Skali’s final evolution at level 17. Its physical appearance resembles a squirrel or a weasel, which could be likened to a Buizel copy from Pokémon. Skunch can have the Brawny passive trait, which increases the holder’s Physical techniques by 20%, paring well with its Melee abilities.
Skali can be found quite early on, but luckily for players, Skunch can be caught without having to evolve Skali. Skunch can be found all over the world of Airborne Archipelego, with Kilima Peaks and Barafu Glacier on Kisiwa island being key examples. Skunch also spawns on Tucma island in various locations, including the Corrupted Badlands and Xolot Reservoir.
4 Yowlar

Yowlar is a Neutral Temtem that does not evolve into or from any other Temtem. It has a frosty-looking exterior, resembling a tiger/polar bear hybrid, and has a gray and blue color palette matching its Neutral species type.
One of the exclusive traits Yowlar can be bestowed with is Cold-Blooded, which protects the holder from being inflicted with Cold or Frozen status conditions. It instead allows Yowlar to have the Regenerated condition for one turn, allowing them to heal some much-needed HP. Yowlar is an incredibly rare Temtem, so players will be lucky if they can catch one! They have a 5% spawn chance, only found on the Barafu Glacier on Kisiwa.
3 Mouflank

Mouflank is the second and final evolution progress of Goty after leveling up 13 times. Mouflank resembles a ram with dark green and cream fur and has curled horns on either side of its head. Mouflank has a well-rounded base stat composition, making it a decent option for players to add to their roster.
When evolving from a Goty, Mouflank can gain one of two traits: Hurry-wart or Unnoticed. Mouflank can only be obtained through evolution, so players must locate a Goty. They are commonly found on the Kisiwa island, at Mawingu Islets, Jino Gap, Kwea Uplands, and Matope Road, with 30-50% spawn rates.
2 Arachnyte

Resembling a tarantula, this eight-legged arachnid spider Temtem is a hybrid, with both Neutral and Digital move sets. Arachnyte has decent SPDEF base stats and the highest SPATK of all evolved Neutral Temtem. Arachnyte does, however, suffer slightly in the SPD department, meaning it will almost always attack last.
Arachnyte benefits from two particular traits that can be randomly assigned; Digi Protection and Adaptive. The former passive trait allows Arachnyte to decrease the damage taken from Digital techniques by 75%, which is perfect against a Digital comp. Arachnyte does not evolve into or from any other Temtem and has a rare spawn chance by Braeside Castle on Arbury island.
1 Valash

Valash is a Neutral and Crystal hybrid Temtem and does not evolve into or from any other Temtem. Valash has one of the coolest in-game character models, as it resembles an upright-standing badger with red crystalised fists. Valash has exceptionally high base ATK stats and has the highest base SPD of all other neutral Temtem.
Valash has two traits, Scavenger, which restores 20% of max HP if another Temtem gets knocked out in battle. This is perfect for self-healing, reducing the need for healing balms. Determined is the other passive trait, which prevents any negative stat stage changes. Valash can only be found in the Mines of Mictlan, on Tucama island.
