The Sims 4 has some excellent sets for minimalist Simmers; for example, City Living, Industrial Loft, and the Moschino Stuff Pack has some super-stylish items for modern builds. However, there is a bit of a gap when it comes to the base game. Some of the Maxis-created items are bulky and bright, which isn't great if players are seeking that stylish, monochromatic look.
Luckily, there are custom content creators eager to fill that space! Here are some excellent items and sets that are both modern and subtle and would fit a variety of different builds, from family homes to apartments to commercial lots. Most sets only require The Sims 4 base game to install, too.

Syboulette has some interesting and unique sets for house-building Simmers, including the Painter Studio set, which includes a slightly less minimalist collection of paintbrushes, paintings, and frames.
7 Minimalist Living Room By Lily Sims
A beautiful set, the Minimalist Living Room by Lily Sims adds modern, functional furniture to The Sims 4. It contains several items, including a coffee table, a couch, ottomans, and artwork. Plus, the dining chairs are particularly cool for an open-plan kitchen/dining area. The storage units are a nice touch, too.
This set would go well with the large, modern windows contained in the Moschino Stuff Pack (in fact, that whole pack is a good buy for minimalist Simmers - the vibe is very modern and stripped-back).
6 Living Minimalist By ShinoKCR
Living Minimalist by ShinoKCR is a very stripped-back, modern set in a color palette of black, white, and red. With straight lines and a monochromatic look, it may not be for players who prefer Maxis-Match style CC, but it does feel unique and stylish. Again, this would suit a modern build with large windows to make the most of natural light.
This set contains 12 items, including a couch, chairs, low glass tables, interesting lamps, and artwork. It contains everything players need for a minimalistic living room and would look great in an apartment for City Living players.
5 Newell TV Units & Living Space By Onyxium
The Newell TV Units & Living Space by Onyxium is an interesting choice because while it contains the stripped-back vibe and straight lines favored by minimalists, it has a lot of texture, making it interesting to look at. The vibe is very down-to-earth and would look good with some plants to break up the color palette.
This set contains 7 items, including a wall shelf with a TV panel, storage units, and two TVs designed to fit the units. It doesn't include anything else players would place in a living room, but it would go well with the bold lines of the Industrial Loft kit.
4 Lift Dining & Living Room Decor By Nynaeve
A beautiful, stylish set with some lovely items and interesting textures, the Lift Dining & Living Room Decor set by Nynaeve is a must-have for minimalist Simmers. It offers the most stylish and minimalistic clutter, adding a splash of color to otherwise empty spaces and some visual interest to a room.
It contains vases, scatter cushions, and coffee table books. This set, plus some plants, will make the perfectly minimal decor for a stylish home or apartment.
3 Keiji Dining Room By Kardofe
The Keiji Dining Room set by Kardofe is warm and comforting while still offering the simplicity that minimalists are looking for. In light, natural wood, it has everything players need to create a comforting, welcoming family dining room.

These stairs are base-game compatible and come in 10 color swatches, all in natural wood tones. It's worth noting that there are Nsome visual problems if players try to place the stairs at 180 degrees; it suits one-tile or stretch-tile placement perfectly.

The Idealista Dining Room set by Winner9 is super-modern and stylish; there's nothing quite like it in the base game, and while it may not be classed as Maxis Match (the artwork, in particular, feels very different to Maxis-created Sims artwork), it's a beautiful set for modern apartments. The table and chairs suit small spaces, ideal for a corner in a kitchen/dining room.
As well as the furniture, this set includes tableware, artwork, and lighting. A very nice set for minimalist Simmers, and all 5 color swatches are easy to fit into different builds.
