The idea of multiple video game IPs coming together in a collaborative title that showcases the strengths of both individual franchises is a pretty exciting prospect indeed. There are several crossover games that have been released in the same vein that are an absolute joy to play through. People love the idea of controlling their favorite characters and having them go toe-to-toe with other people from different universes.

That being said, not all video games crossovers get the love they deserve, despite their quality. This can be due to a myriad of reasons, ranging from a general lack of interest to poor marketing. Whatever the case may be, a lot of people simply don't talk about the following crossover games, which is a shame.

10 Ehrgeiz

Ehrgeiz Sephiroth vs. Cloud

A fighting game released by Square Enix that was pretty well-received for its time, it's a shame that more people don't talk about Ehrgeiz. This game definitely deserves way more love than what has come its way.

Along with a bunch of original characters, Ehrgeiz also had a bunch of characters from the hugely popular Final Fantasy 7. These included Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, Zack, and Yuffie.

9 Nicktoons MLB

Nicktoons MLB

People love crossovers mainly because of how odd yet engrossing these mashups can be. There's no greater example of this than Nicktoons MLB, a baseball game featuring characters from Nickelodeon and real-life superstars from Major League Baseball.

It's easily one of the oddest crossovers around, with the Nickelodeon characters looking hilariously out of place in an otherwise realistic game. However, the game's mechanics were solid and fans of sports games would have a great time with this title indeed.

8 Cadence Of Hyrule

Crypt of the NecroDancer is one of the most unique indie games around. The idea of combining a dungeon crawler with rhythm game mechanics sounds odd, but only the brilliant minds in the indie scene could've pulled it off so spectacularly.

The game was so unique that Nintendo signed these developers to form a spin-off of this game using characters from The Legend of Zelda. The end result is Cadence of Hyrule, a brilliant and imaginative romp through familiar Zelda worlds with the brilliant gameplay of Crypt of the NecroDancer.

7 Heroes Of The Storm

Heroes of the Storm

Heroes of the Storm is one of the most underrated MOBAs around. The game is a crossover of all of Blizzard's franchises, resulting in an unputdownable experience that is simply delectable.

However, it seems that Blizzard itself has forgotten about this MOBA, given the lack of any meaningful updates or content packs in recent times. As a result, the player base of this game has dipped severely, resulting in this popular MOBA slowly turning into a relic of the not-too-distant past.

6 NBA Street V3

NBA Street V3 with Mario

The idea of Mario playing against Shaquille O'Neal is such a hilarious idea that most people would want to see this come to fruition. What most people don't realize is that this crossover has already happened on the GameCube!

NBA Street V3 had a roster of modern NBA superstars and legends when it was released, but the GameCube featured notable additions of its own. Players could play as Mario, Peach, and Luigi as well, which came from an agreement between Nintendo and EA at the time.

5 Pokemon Conquest

Pokemon Conquest a battle between several Pokemon

Pokemon is the most popular and valuable IP of all time, so it's only a given that this series would be the subject of many crossovers. However, no one expected that this massive franchise would collaborate with a relatively unknown series called Nobunaga's Ambition.

The end result is a surprisingly competent and entertaining tactical role-playing game that was released for the Nintendo DS. It's a shame that more people don't talk about this game nowadays, with the idea of Pokemon in a historical Japanese setting being quite riveting indeed.

4 Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

Kart racing games have been all the rage since time eternal, with Mario Kart arguably being the catalyst for this massive wave of popularity. While several kart games have been released over time, almost all of them have been overshadowed by the massive success of Nintendo's flagship kart racing series.

However, there was a time when people thought that Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing would be a great competitor in this genre. Various Sega franchises make an appearance in this game, although its immense quality still wasn't enough to dethrone Mario Kart from the very top.

3 Project X Zone

Project X Zone

Another tactical role-playing game that has made this list is Project X Zone. It's a great crossover gaming series with both games being pretty decent in their own right.

Companies like Namco, Sega, and Capcom had a bunch of their IPs represented in the first game, with Nintendo joining the party in its sequel as well. The games might be forgotten now, but ardent fans still remember the great time they had with this ambitious title.

2 Mario Sports Mix

Mario Sports Mix

Most people assume that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the first instance of Nintendo's IPs colluding with the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series. However, the truth is that there was another game that did this collaboration for the first time.

Mario Sports Mix is a forgotten sports game for the Wii that was developed by Square Enix. While the game might not have had too much content to support it, the core gameplay was solid and can still entertain people who manage to grab a copy of this game... and a Wii as well.

1 Fighters Megamix

It seems that Sega absolutely loves creating crossover games. Both this company and Nintendo have a penchant for creating multiple crossover titles, and Fighters Megamix is no exception to this rule.

This game features characters from Virtua Fighter and Fighting Vipers, along with a few inclusions from Virtua Cop 2 (Janet) and Daytona USA (the Hornet car). The title was well-received by fans and critics alike, so it's a shame that more people don't talk about this amazing fighting game.
