Japan's OLM (formerly called Oriental Light and Magic) was founded by Toshiaki Okuno on October 3, 1990. In addition to theatrical releases, OLM has worked on TV series and even 3D films. Similar to every other anime studio, OLM divides the production of its numerous brands and series among several different production teams.

Angmund, the demon king, was vanquished one hundred years ago by King Kyle of Orvelia. It was believed that these demons had fled forever, thus reports of sightings a century later were met with skepticism.

Unfortunately, only one of the people dispatched to investigate the claim really returned. Once knight-in-training Kasel learns he is the king's true son, the fate of the world is in his hands. The revelation confirmed his status as the sole wielder of the holy sword Aea, and hence the only one capable of killing the demon king in the same manner as his father.

Shinpei Ajiro moved in with Mio and Ushio Kofune after the demise of his own parents. He had left home to go to college, and when he returned, he learned that his brother Ushio had died while trying to save a little girl.

While at the funeral, Shinpei's best friend informed him that Ushio had been injured in the neck. In light of the strange occurrences, Shinpei begins to suspect foul play and comes to the conclusion that a murder has taken place. To perpetuate the narrative, Shinpei fulfills Ushio's dying wishes while protecting Mio.
