Call Of The Night is an anime about a middle school student who decides to stop going to school, but he simply doesn’t see the point in the day-to-day routine of an average life. In the anime, Kou Yamori wanders the streets lit by the moonlight and comes across a mysterious girl called Nazuna. One thing leads to another and suddenly Kou is in her apartment, where Nazuna attempts to bite his neck when she thinks he’s asleep on the futon.

It's then revealed that Nzauna is in fact, a vampire. What follows is a delightful series of Kou and Nazuna’s nighttime adventures as they meet a variety of strong personalities along the way. All the while, Kou tries desperately to fall in love with Nazuna, so he too can become a vampire one day.

Stories describe him as a brutal killer, but he’s actually just an average guy who doesn’t care about human blood at all. On top of that, he’s an otaku too, which is completely opposite to what the stories say. Staz’s subordinates take care of his district, whilst he watches anime, reads manga, and plays video games all day.

2 Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro!

Stepmom's Ex Anime- Miss Nagatoro

While Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro! doesn’t feature any vampires, the two main characters provide a dynamic reminiscent of Nazuna and Kou. Naoto Hachiouji or “Senpai” is certainly shyer than Kou from Call Of The Night is, with the entire premise of Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro centered around Nagatoro teasing Naoto every single day.

Nazuna does end up teasing Kou at times, but he definitely has more of a backbone than Naoto. It’s pretty obvious from the start in Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro! that Nagatoro has a crush on Naoto, but Call Of The Night is a lot more cryptic as to whether Nazuna actually has feelings for Kou or not.
