Among these monsters, apostles are the most dangerous. Many of them were formerly humans, and they were turned by the power of behelits. Apostles are only surpassed by the God Hand in terms of raw power. They have complete freedom over their actions, but most of them listen to the call of the God Hand. Kentaro Miura introduced many apostles in Berserk, some more powerful than others.

8 Slug Count

The Slug Count from Berserk

The Slug Count was the ruler of an unnamed nation. He was a ruthless individual who would kill entire families if he suspected them of heresy. The Slug Count became an apostle after seeing his wife indulging in heretic activities.

In his apostle form, the Slug Count could shatter massive stone pillars. He also had extraordinary regeneration that allowed him to fight without any care. The Slug Count's only weakness was his head, but his massive body made it difficult to approach him.

7 Wyald

Berserk Wyald in his apostle form

Wyald is among the most deplorable Berserk characters. He was the leader of the Black Dog Knights, which consisted of the worst criminals in Midland. Normally, it would have been impossible to tame the brigands, but Wyald's overwhelmingly evil aura turned them into obedient soldiers.

He could take on hundreds of soldiers at the same time. Wyald's apostle form was much more heinous than his regular one. In his transformed form, Wyald's attacks were strong enough to break Guts' sword. Zodd killed him for trying to use Griffith's behelit for himself.

6 Rakshas

Rakshas in the Berserk anime

Rakshas is the most twisted apostle within Griffith's army. He used to be a member of the Kushan clan but was exiled due to his heinous crimes. Rakshas joined the new Band of Hawk and became the leader of the search and destroy division. Rakshas is a talented assassin who can sneak up on his enemies without being noticed.

Rakshas' strength and speed are not to be underestimated. He can handle fighting several enemies at the same time without taking a break. His only weak point is his face, but his amorphous nature allows him to move it around his body.

5 Irvine

Irvine in his Apostle form

Irvine leads the archers in the new Band of Hawk. Not much is known about his past, but he is a terrific fighter. Irvine specializes in ranged combat, a trait that separates him from the other apostles in Griffith's army. In his human form, Irvine uses a normal bow and arrow, with which he can launch multiple arrows at once. Irvine's handling of the bow and arrow is truly a thing of beauty.

When he transforms, Irvine's speed and power increase by several folds. He can defeat hundreds of soldiers with very little effort. Irvine uses his fur to attack his enemies, and upon making contact, it tears the target from within.

4 Locus

Locus from Berserk

Like all the other commanders in the new Band of Hawk, Locus was also a living legend. He was called the "Moonlight Knight," and he had the reputation of being undefeated in all the duels he contested. Aspiring warriors would hear about Locus's achievements and try to emulate him.

Currently, Locus is an apostle, but he is not reckless or unhinged. He is well-mannered and logical, which is why Griffith trusts him in political matters. Locus has yet to reveal his true powers, but it won't be long before he does.

3 Grunbeld

Grunbeld reincarnated as an apostle

Grunbeld is the leader of the Band of Hawk's Giants division. He used to be a human, but he was reborn by Griffith's powers. Prior to his rebirth, Grunbeld was active during the Hundred-Year War, where he made a name for himself using his physical strength.

Grunbeld's apostle form is majestic, and it offers him lots of advantages. He is able to breathe fire, which can incinerate anything in its path. Grunbeld also gains a durable outer layer that can withstand multiple attacks without breaking. He carries a greathammer and a giant shield that is equipped with a cannon.

2 Zodd

Berserk Zodd transforms in his apostle form

Zodd is an incredibly powerful apostle who is employed in the service of Griffith. He is treated as a legend by warriors, and he is known to move from one battlefield to another to satisfy his thirst for battle. Zodd has existed for centuries, which resulted in his moniker, "Zodd the Immortal."

Even in his human form, Zodd towers above most humans, giving him a massive edge over his opponents. Zodd has a tremendous amount of combat experience, which he has gained over the years. He is able to use various styles, depending on the quality of his opponent.

1 Ganishka

Ganishka from Berserk

Ganishka is the strongest apostle introduced in the story so far. He was a Kushan king who ruled over a vast empire. Ganishka allowed power to get to his head, so he decided to rebel against the God Hand. This behavior separated him from the other apostles, who were loyal to the God Hand.

Ganishka's released form gave him an enormous amount of strength with which he could fight against several apostles at the same time. In his reincarnated form, Ganishka became even more powerful, and he could lay waste to entire cities by himself. However, he could not maintain his sanity, and ultimately, his mind was overwhelmed.
