8 Griffith

At one point, Griffith was the leader of the Band of the Falcon. He was loved and respected by his comrades, and they were willing to lay down their lives for his sake. Griffith proved that he was not deserving of their admiration when he sacrificed all of them for his dream. Griffith's decision caused the deaths of his soldiers, and ultimately, he was reborn as Femto of the God Hand. The transformation increased Griffith's power exponentially.

His adoptive father, Gambino, sold Guts to another mercenary for some money. After Guts accidentally killed Gambino, he was chased by the other mercenaries. Guts' luck seemed to change when he joined the Band of the Falcon, but his happiness didn't last for long.

Guts' physical strength is extraordinary, especially for a human. He has mowed down many apostles with his Dragon Slayer. Guts is a fearless individual, and no monster scares him. He is not just a threat to monsters but to any person who wrongs him.

6 Ganishka

Ganishka was the ruler of the Kushan Empire and arguably the most powerful apostle in the series. He was an ambitious person who desired to rule the world. Ganishka was unlike any apostle, as he despised the God Hand and wanted to supplant them.

Ganishka was able to dominate multiple apostles at the same time. He even stunned Zodd momentarily, an individual known for his outstanding physical abilities. In his twice-reincarnated form, Ganishka's power reached its peak, but it also made him lose his mind.

5 God Hand

The God Hand is a quintet of five of the most powerful demons that operate on the will of the Idea of Evil. The group consists of Slan, Ubik, Conrad, Void, and Femto. Originally, the God Hand only had four members. Griffith became the fifth after the Eclipse.

Every member of the God Hand has a surreal amount of power. They are able to alter reality, which is one of the most powerful abilities in the series. As followers of the Idea of Evil, the God Hand are dangerous individuals who eliminate any person they see fit. They also don't seem to care about the lives of those below their rank.

4 Zodd

Zodd is a member of the reborn Band of the Falcon, and he is among Griffith's most loyal followers. Zodd is renowned throughout the world for his strength. According to legend, Zodd would roam from one battlefield to another, killing all those who stood in his way.

Zodd's apostle nature helped him vanquish numerous fighters. After being alive for so many years, Zodd has gained a great degree of skill in combat, to the point where he can wield all kinds of weapons. All these qualities make Zodd a terrifying character.

3 Skull Knight

The Skull Knight is one of the more enigmatic characters in Berserk. He only appeared a handful of times in the story, mainly to aid Guts in his time of need. The Skull Knight wields a sword that is made up of behelits, and a single slash is able to cut through dimensions.

​​​​​​It can also be used to open astral portals that let the Skull Knight travel instantly to a different location. The Skull Knight has fought and bested Zodd, which is an incredible feat. He also harbors animosity toward the God Hand but has been unable to defeat them. Given his set of skills, the Skull Knight is an incredibly dangerous character.

2 Locus

Locus is a legendary warrior who joined the new Band of the Falcon after the Eclipse. For an apostle, Locus is rather calm and rational. He possesses great analytical skills, which is the main reason why Griffith seeks his counsel.

Locus is said to have never lost a fight, which is a major testament to his skills. Locus' weapon of choice is the lance, and he has great skill in using it. He hasn't gone all out in a fight, but it is safe to assume that he can take down the mightiest of warriors effortlessly.

1 Rakshas

Rakshas joined Griffith's army after being ostracized by his own people. He only wanted to get into the army because of his personal desire to kill Griffith. Due to his skills, he was appointed head of the search and destroy division of the new Band of the Falcon.

Rakshas is a vile individual who loves torturing his opponents before finally killing them. He has a sadistic nature, which makes him one of the most evil characters in the series.
